Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce is weighing up a shock move for former Newcastle flop Patrick Kluivert as the Dutch striker seeks a return to the Premiership.

The 29-year-old has struggled to make an impact since moving back to Spain with Valencia and is keen on another stint in England. Kluivert, who also used to play for Barcelona, would be available for around £2.5million.

Bolton have began searching to bring in a new striker with a goalscoring instict to the Reebok Stadium. Currently Bolton play Kevin Davies as a lone striker but he has struggled to find the net and has only netted 4 times this season.

Meanwhile, Allardyce has warned his players to get ready for the Intertoto Cup. He said: “It would be a possibility to play in the tournament should we not qualify for the Champions League or UEFA Cup.”

Didn't he complain that he thought the Premiership was to physical?

Anyway, they'll be signing Ronaldinho when he's 37.
