If the club seriously had any ambition to build to challenge for a Champions League place in a few years time then I would expect them to spend all of the £35 million received for Carrol plus another £20 million on top.

 

Sounds ambitious but if we hadn't sold Carroll then I would have expected us to spend £20 million on new players in the summer.

 

 

No chance, I realise that - he will probably spend £20 million in total, sell Enrique and some people will be saying its a good transfer window - laughable

 

The thing is, if we did spent 55m, we'd only waste it. Probably bid £20m for someone who's out of contract or something.

Just heard one of my mates from school has been killed in a motorbike accident in Thailand. Massive shock to the system. I've had old relatives die before and known of people who have died who have been my age, but this is the first time i've actually had someone who I used to be really good friends with die. I'm gutted. Lovely kid and a cracking centre back as well.

 

Really puts life/exams/football into perspective when this happens.

Nah I just didn't like getting good players on my shirt because they'd either turn out to be shit or theyd fuck off. Also got a Huntington 54 shirt and Sibierski 20.

Not 'ideal' as such, but Yakubu is going for 2 million in the summer. Still only 28, seems to be over his injury problems and has been banging them in for fun for Leicester. Would be a good experienced striker to have in the squad.
