  1. ...well done for allowing both teams to wear their normal kits. For too long the FA/Refs have been obsessed with teams' kits being 'too closely matched, so you had better change something' ending up with NUFC wearing them fuckin' awful white shorts and socks. This has got so bad that I bet I'm not the only one to notice teams during the last world cup turning out all in blue or red or white, whatever, so there would be no clashing ;):icon_lol::D FIFA :icon_lol: The Old Firm have had both teams wearing white shorts without problems for years and the attitude of the officials in England was pissing me right off. However, whoever it was that made the decision, well done. Sunderland FC will no doubt be sending a thank you letter to the FA for allowing Newcastle United to wear their most glorious kit yesterday, thus brightening up their shithole of a ground for a short while.

Totally spot on, thought that at the time. Some of the biggest derbies we've had against them have been slightly tainted by this. The two O'Brien games and the Play Offs come to mind.

The yellow shirt was superb man.

  2. To think we were within a minute-and-a-half of sending Sunlun into meltdown and, possibly, Mrs Doubtfire the sack. Hmmm, I can't decide if them getting a point was actually a good thing :icon_lol: To think they have spent so much money (£10m on a goalie, £15m on Bent, £15m on Gyan etc) and are not in any way making people sit up and take notice of them must be worrying for the daft fucker who is bankrolling them.

Why on earth would we do that? :icon_lol:

We never showed up again yesterday, played hoofball for the 2nd time this season. An embarrassment. We keep on crumbling against you, although it seems we struggle against the physical teams this season, when Birmingham threw on Zigic at the start of the season we couldn't handle him, they scored 2 really simple, scrappy goals from crosses/corners. Seems like we didn't learn our lesson(s).

We didn't deserve a draw but we snatched it and it reduced our blushes. Thank god. :D

Glad the derbies are out of the way now, back to concentrating on our top 8 push. The part time fans can also disappear now, embarrassing to hear their views.

    FYP

I'm not going to disagree with you.

We need to learn from these 2 games, there was no passion or desire in any player on that pitch for us. Worrying that we didn't turn up.

Maybe it's because after the kick off roar and red and white cards, the fans realised they were shit and totally piped down until the 94th minute, when they proceeded to make utter plebs of themselves with a mini pitch invastion.

No wonder Bent wants to go ;)

  3. Although Krul is probably the better shot stopper, I think a lot of his decisions are too rash at the moment.

i.e. Harper wouldn't have saved Nasri's shot at Arsenal, but more than likely wouldn't have gifted Man City their opener.

I'd have Harper in for now as I believe he adds a calmness and assuredness to our back line, which massively helps Coloccini.

  4. I know this is miles early, but you often need to get in early to get sponsorship.

I've got my place for the GNR 2011 and im running it from NACC - The national assosiation for Crohns and Colitis. Someone very dear to me has Crohns and im sure a lot of you on here will know someone affected by it. It can be a deadly disease and affects many people in the country, yet is often overlooked for a lot of the more 'famous' charities.

Please sponsor me, even if it's as little as 1 pound. Every penny counts towards my initial target of £500.

    Sponsor me here: http://www.justgiving.com/Nick-Kane

    Thanks

  5. CT, what is it then? Cup run or Europa league? To say we're safe is ridiculous. Nowt to stop the teams who are still shitting themselves getting end of season results as we tumble down whilst getting the open top taxis ready for wembley. We simply don't have the squad to challenge for Europe (haha) and win the FA Cup.

I wouldn't quite start with the tips for Wembley final day just yet.

Where in 8th with a game in hand after half a season. Why do you find it so hard to believe that we cant finish one place higher?

When I say were safe I dont mean current points wise, I mean my opinion that we will get the remaining points needed no problem.

When you say our squad is not good enough to challenge for europe.... We are ALREADY challenging for europe and are currently one place off it with a game in hand. We have players returning to fitness and are looking to bring more in. We have to play our remaining games and will therefore CONTINUE to challenge for Europe.

It is the most open prem for a long time and we are looking better and better as we go. We lost some early season games we should have won and suffered due to stupid suspensions.

There is no reason why we cant do both imo. ;)

Two games ago we were a loss away from being in the relegation zone man :wank:

    Calm down a bit.
