  1. Cheers, I have high hopes for that lad.

Hope he doesn't stay in Scottish football too long. Get himself some experience, do well, then move back to the Championship and build a team for the Premier League

I think this job is his breakthrough opportunity and he will use it as a platform for just that. Robbie Neilson (predecessor at Hearts) has practically done the same thing - he left before Christmas to take over at MK Dons.

Is that Gary Brazil from NUFC?

I assumed he'd be a sales rep or something? Never heard of him in football since around 1989-ish.

He's a youth coach or something at Forest, he was caretaker manager back in 2012 as well so not the first time he's taken over first team duties.

  2. Rangers again illustrating what a basket case of a club they are.

    No idea what's going on.

Looks like they have tried to devise a plan at the start/middle of this week to leave Rangers without actually resigning or being sacked and have asked the club's board to waive compensation to join another team (Notts Forest apparently). Then Forest then backed out the deal and they chose Gary Brazil instead.

Now the club's board have called their bluff after the agent tried to retract the deal on Wednesday/Thursday.

The Chairman isn't happy that the gap between Rangers and Celtic is 27 points and he wasn't impressed with the signing policy either - so it suited him for Warburton etc to get to feck.

But really fuck knows, this is shit I've read on the Rangers forum I browse on every couple of days.

  3. He's still a pretty important player imo for just now, if he was to leave for Swansea or Palace in january we'd have been left with Gayle and Murphy....

I think the other 23 teams in the Championship would have Mitrovic in their team every day of the week and he'd more than likely be their main striker.

I think he would be performing a lot better if he had a decent run of games and wasn't suspended at the start of the season and then injured after it.

I still don't think he's good enough to lead the line if we get promoted the EPL...

  4. Just makes it more frustrating when you draw 2-2 with QPR and you could have pulled away further....

We get a good run going this month and then go into the game with them at the end with some good form, if we beat them I think they will falter away.

  5. I don't believe in the sake of signing players for the sake of it, but any medium to long term injuries to folk like Shelvey, Gayle etc and we are shagged......

Who knows what's happening behind the scenes but it is a wee tiny bit alarming that we haven't really acted upon anything this window???

  6. We said Ben Arfa would flourish as a number 10 and that never really worked. He's a hell of a lot more gifted than Ritchie too.

Townsend might be a winger, but he's going to guarantee us at least 10 goals and probably a similar number of assists. Provides a real threat at set pieces too, which is something we've lacked. I think of him as a match-winner - he's one of those players who can make something happen out of nothing (think his winner against Palace, goals against Chelsea and Soton).

And that means that Ritchie wouldn't have an impact playing as a number 10?  :anguish:

  7. Is Moussa Dembele worth £30million? I don't watch Scottish football much because it's utter dogshit but in a league where Liam Boyce of Ross County is the top scorer I would expect someone that sensational to have scored more tbh. It's not like he is in a struggling team either, Celtic are 22 points clear and could play their reserves for the rest of the season and still win it quite comfortably.

If Celtic got £15 million they wouldn't be in a position to reject it.

He's had a good season for them and has a lot of potential but £40 million asking price is laughable.

  8. Ok,

Check the team report that your assistant manager's done for you, itll be on the left and look like a folder, underneath the tactics button.

That'll give you a broad understanding of where your team is strong, or weak. Are there any glaring gaps in the 1st team that you need to address, would 1 injury to your striker leave you playing some unproven kid? If so, send your scouts out to find you whatever you're in need of. You can set instructions by clicking  Magnifying glass -> Quick search -> first team player -> position -> role, then apply filters.

Look at your staff. Is there a coach there who's stealing a living, if there a scout with judging CA & PA of <12? If so, find a better replacement and when the new guy is ready to sign you'll be offered the opportunity to get shot of someone (unless you've extra staff slots to fill).

Then think about what kind of football you want to play at the minute. Best to start simple as your team are going to have to learn it, the more complicated you make the formation and instructions, the longer it'll take for them to get used to it.

Arrange some friendlies, choose them wisely and be prepared to tear up your tactics three games into the season because your overlapping fullbacks are knackered before 1/2 time, or your new clever striker just got snapped by some Latvian behemoth.

    :icon_lol:

Cheers lad, it's gotten really complicated over the last few years.
