  1.

Aye, there are a few on here who spout shite.

    ;)

Haha, I was trying to find my old posts to see what shite I used to post but it wouldn't let me go back any further than January last year.

To be fair I wasn't slagging CT's post but thanks for going out your way and making time to find some examples from me. :icon_lol:

  2. Usually a player gets their own thread months before he signs!!!! We must be slipping

Anyway, heard a few people on the radio today who have followed his football and reckon we are getting a really top notch player at a steal. Talking in similar terms to Cabaye in regard to what an excellent signing he will be for us.

If Cabaye misses tomorrow I wonder whether is viable to start him given he may not even have trained with our players. Probably not.

Who ever was on the radio that day must have been smoking some absolutely mental stuff. Anita on par with Cabaye?

    Feck sake man.

Part of the reason I love reading posts from years and years ago, crazy how some things work out far differently than you think they will. :icon_lol:

  3. It's a shame that Atsu is away at the AFCON as I think Murphy would benefit from that supply line down the left. Although, his absence may mean more game time for Lazaar and Yedlin?

I'm guessing that Yedlin will probably play more often seeing as Anita is out for two months or so but I'm not sure Lazaar will? I thought he was more of a left back than a midfielder anyway?

  4. What important goals were they?

Scored the equalising and winning goals against Chelsea in February 2013. He scored the winner against West Brom November 2013. He put us 1-0 up against West Ham on the final day of 2014/2015.

All goals that were either winning goals and got us 3 points or contributing to winning vital games for us. Aye it's only 4 goals out of the 11 he scored but for £1.8 million we still got some use out of him.

We can't be bitter as fuck and say he did nothing the 3 and a half years he played for us. I'm glad he's gone and we've made a shit load of money from him in the process.

  5. Its strange how things look from the other side of the fence...

All of you are going to be wrong about Sissoko, he had a great end to the season and played great throughout the euros which ended in a man of the match performance against Portugal . You're Newcastle supporting mates or people on social media are just bitter that Sissoko is a level above their club and he knew it, I have a feeling he is really going to show his true colours with a good coach and team around him. This guy is an absolute beast on the ball , similar to Dembele with not quite the dribbling finesse but more of the powerful running. He can pick out a pass and drive our midfield forward with relative ease. The whole thing about his attitude just sounds like media hype because he was unhappy to be playing for a shit team which got relegated when he knew he was better than that. Mark my words he's going to be a star.

A couple of points on this transfer.

Half those fucking whining Geordies wouldn't know a good player if they saw one, i mean those having a pop at Sissoko were wanking themselves silly over Townsend.

    Think about that.

Secondly, how many on here would have thought that two seasons into his contract Poch would have guided five Spurs players into the England side under two Managers (Woy and now Fat Sam?).

I trust Poch knowing a player and his talent more than any of us fuckers, so have some bloody faith. At the end of the day Poch would have wanted Sissoko and in Poch i for one trust.

Sissoko didn't raise his game on the Euros, he played better with the talent around him, and i feel he will do the same at Spurs.

That just looks like desperation and delusion to convince themselves they've made a good signing.

I don't think they realise that yes, to an extent, when Sissoko turns up he is a good player, that's not what Newcastle fans are contesting, we are questioning his consistency, his commitment, his desire, his work-rate, his reliability and so on.

He's never worth £30 million, never. I am thrilled we have made a £28.2 million transfer fee profit on this waster.

  6. The whole media thing actually reminds me of N'Zogbia a wee bit, when he was chatting shit in the media about Arsenal, Real Madrid etc being interested in him and the daft bastard ended up at Wigan...

    https://www.theguardian.com/football/2009/feb/06/newcastle-kinnear-nzogbia-given

Found it, and of course the quote here:

"Kinnear was circumspect when told of Given's criticisms but lashed out at N'Zogbia's comments. "It is laughable, really," said Kinnear. "Charles lived in a fantasy world. There was not a day when he didn't have some Mickey Mouse story about a club that wanted him. First it was Arsenal, then Manchester United, then Real Madrid, Aston Villa and Lyon. In the end there was only one thing I could do – sell him to Wigan."

  7. Silly talk of letting him rot. No use to anyone. I'm sure if he stays Rafa will take him to one side, sort his head out and have him playing well.

That would be the most constructive thing to do but he's a lazy spineless bastard and I expect him to not bother his arse.

Caulkin adds a bit of credibility but he tweeted something the other night and then dismissed it seconds later.

I'd take a part ex with McCarthy from Everton.

If we got 15-20M out of Everton + McCarthy we'd be laughing.

  8. I don't follow football much anymore, but as recently as a couple of years ago, when a player went for 20m it was usually someone that you'd heard of.

Now there's people going for 30m+ that are complete no-marks. It's gone absolutely mental.

I completely agree, when I started following football back in the earl 2000's £30 million would get you a superstar!

I know theres inflation etc but Arsenal signed Alexis Sanchez for £32 million two years ago and folk like Bolasie are moving to Everton - a mid table PL team for nearly the same amount!!!
