  1. Probably will start against Accrington I would have thought. On Hughton, the test will come if/when we have a bad run - but so far so good. Yeah, but we're not going to learn anything about Vuckic when (if) he faces Accrington. No disrespect to them, but our second string should be able to beat them. We need to see how the kids stack up against Premier League opposition so if we need to throw someone on, we know who's the best shot. Even though the game was over, the intelligence and experience of the premier league players would make it a less forgiving proposition. seems like a wasted opportunity. I'd argue that you'd learn more about him in the game against Accrington then against Villa. Accrington are going to come out fighting with their fans right behind them against a Premiership side, probably offering us a tough physical game and we'd be able to see whether he's got the mentality to handle that sort of environment. Whereas I don't think you're going to learn anything putting him on when we're 4-0 up in a game which had basically turned into an exhibition with Villa looking an absolute shambles of a team and who had virtually given up.
  2. Williamson and Routledge were good signings IMO. Yeah they were but...Best and Perch Best was a signed because we needed a striker and our preferred targets either wanted to stay put (Beckford) or move elsewhere (Moses). It's too early to write off Perch but his performances against us were very good and he came recommended by Calderwood. Tiote probably got recommended by McLaren too...
  3. Gabrielle Marcotti is about the only good thing 606 had and I'm not even sure if he's doing it this year.
  4. 606 was awful today, full of absolute morons - presenters and callers.
  5. So a German club nobody's ever heard of manages to scrape together 8m Euros. Meanwhile one of the (allegedly) richest clubs in the world offers fuck all yet wants the player and his club to take them seriously. Fuck me, send in the clowns. Scrape together 8m? In spite of Hoffenheim being one of the richest clubs in Germany...
  6. 1: Chelsea 2: Man City 3: Man Utd 4: Liverpool 5: Arsenal 6: Tottenham 7: Everton 8: Aston Villa 9: West Ham 10: Birmingham 11: Fulham 12: Sunderland 13: Blackburn 14: Stoke 15: Bolton 16: Wigan 17: Newcastle 18: West Brom 19: Wolves 20: Blackpool
  7. I'd say Chelsea are a bigger club because although you can go on about the past or whatever but the fact of the matter is the Premiership has such a massive global reputation then a win in it is going to count for far more in terms of a clubs stature in comparison to winning the old football league. Whether a club is 'big' or not is such a vague generalized term anyway making for such a pointless argument.
