  1. What a crock of shit. He's done an excellent job in the time he's been manager and that cannot be denied. Too many people forget the dire condition this club was in and what we are doing right now. Pardew is like any other manager, he works within the means of his club...forget your sheikh's and oil multi billionaires as they don;t know what means of the club are. This club has to work within it's means, meaning it has to be sustainable on it's own..create it's own revenue, which creates transfer funds in time. We have not long ago broke even, so we will reap the rewards of a well run club soon enough, plus we have the majority of players at this club that are worth far far more than what we paid, which means the quality is building, not declining. We don't buy players for the sake of it and Pardew knows what he bought into, which is a structure and blueprint to work from. I'd imagine he's signed an 8 year deal, along with the coaches and scouts because he and they can see the progress the club is making. Ashley doesn't work on a shoestring budget...he works on a budget that is fully sustainable and is tough enough along with Llambias to see that it's not stretched or broken. It's sound financial management from top to bottom and any fan should be over the moon with what's happening. Those fans that are not satisfied will never be satisfied no matter what manager we had and what players we had.
  2. J69, have a word with yourself FFS. Pardew could get a job at anytime with what he's done here, so he doesn't need to lick arse or keep in check. It's clear you don't like Ashley and Llambias, probably because you have Kevin Keegan posters on your wall or something...get over it man. Stability is a major issue for a forward thinking club and we are now a forward thinking club and not just a live for the season club like we were. Fans like you would love to see it all fall apart just so you can say, " I told you, I told you."
  3. Two brothers out fishing near a toxic river and one says, 'hey Billy, I hope we don't get poisoned by the fish we catch."........Billy looks at Phil and says, " nah man, we will be fine as if this river was really poisoned, the fish would die." Billy accepts this explanation and he happily casts his line out and soon enough starts pulling in some really big fish. 'wow' said Billy,'look how many fish I've caught Phil'..and Phil says, ' great stuff Billy, now let's go home and have our Mam cook them for our tea.' They both happily skip home and proudly show their parents their massive catch and immediately all the family can't wait for them to be cooked so they can have fish and chips with mushy peas and two slices of Warburtons expensive bread each. Not long after, there was a shout from the kitchen. 'come and get your lovely cooked fish everyone, I've used goldenfry batter on them , now all sit at the table.' Billy, Phil, Jemima, Alice and uncle Bob, plus Mam and Dad, all sit down and tuck in. 'MMMMMMMMMMMM this is delicious said uncle Bob, it's so tasty and yummy'...everyone agreed and they all ate it up as if they were starving Ethiopians in a small village somewhere in Ethiopia that nobody had ever heard of and so never got any food supplies to them and had to live off the land which was barren. They all finished their meals and licked their plates clean and sat back all content......until..... Uncle Bob holds his stomach and says, " oh no, I feel really ill"...then he drops down dead. Mum and Dad also drop down dead.... and minutes later Jemima and Alice both drop down dead. Billy and Phil look at each other in shock, just waiting for the inevitable to happen and sit staring in shock for 3 days solid without moving. After the 3 days, Billy says, " Phil...I feel ok, how do you feel?" and Phil says, " I feel fine but this place stinks of dead bodies, yet how come we are still alive and we ate the same fish?" Billy looks at Phil and says, " how the fuck do I know you stupid little bastard, I'm not a doctor you know, I'm just a kid and if you ask me that again I'll smash your face in." Phil jumps up and says, " howay then you little bullying bastard, I'll have yer out now," but Billy backs down and pumps with fear. 2 years later, they both manage to rebuild their lives after that shocking day .... they still didn't know how they survived eating the fish, so they decide to see Renton who is a scientist and asked him how they survived... but Renton just said they were both thick and beat the pair of them up and left them for dead and ran away laughing, thinking it was funny to beat up two kids who poisoned their entire family with toxic fish and who were clearly traumatized by the whole incident. They then woke up in hospital after both being in coma's for 32 years. After a years rehabilitation, they try and find out how they were alive while their family all died, so they went to see 'The Fish' off here and asked him how they survived when their family all perished. The Fish was in a particularly bad mood and told them to fuck off of they will get what Renton gave them, as Renton had confided in 'The Fish' what he had done. Billy and Phil got a bit pissed off with being talked to like they were kids...even though they once were, before their coma's, so they jumped on 'The Fish', beat him up and ate him. twenty minutes later,Billy and Phil were dead, they had been poisoned because 'The Fish' had just came back from swimming in a toxic river. If anything can come of this, it's .....don't eat Fish from toxic rivers, I suppose.
  4. A baby Elephant goes up to it's Mam and says, "Mam, why do I have such a big nose?"...and his Mam said, " It's a trunk you daft little cunt, now fuck off before I smash your little face in, you thick git." That's it.
  5. I don't buy into , " too small" business with players...you only have to look back at when Ryan Giggs exploded onto the scene and many others, including Michael Owen or even Defoe. We know it's a physical game but most teams don't possess man mountains that cannot be played against. If you are a slight character on the wing, you use your speed and skill to make your mark, not your physical strength to try and hustle your way through.
  6. Tav....her....knee...her....was very good last night, probably our man of the match and has come on a bundle. He looks to have the class to stake a first team claim nailed on very soon if he keeps up performances like that as he will learn as well. The only issue I had in the match was the lack of left wing usage when Man Utd were leaving it wide open most of the time, yet we didn't use the option much. Fergusons ball in for the goal was great and he had one or two good runs, yet on a few other occasions when he received the ball with wide open space, he chose to pass it sideways, which was frustrating.
  7. How many penalties has Williamson gave away compared to Colo and Taylor?
  8. All teams have luck and we are no different but it's all swings and roundabouts in the good and bad luck stakes.Yes we rode our luck against Q.P.R but many teams rode their luck against us, so as I said, we finished 5th because we deserved it.
  9. No, williamson isn't technical and is no match for ball playing skills like Colo...infact many centre halves are not in Colo's class in the technical area.Willo is a beast in the air though and it seems to get overlooked because all people focus on , is seems, is at times he gets caught up in the ball or he regularly hoofs the ball down field to clear, even when not under pressure. He's a no nonesense centre back who does his job in most cases , very effectively. Taylor and Colo are my first choice but Willo is a decent back up, even at this level.
  10. Lucky?Bollocks...we finished 5th because we deserved it, not because of luck mate.
  11. All you are doing is picking out the bad parts of Willo's game and totally overlooking the good parts.Willo is no ball playing Coloccini, he is a towering centre half who's job is to stop the oppo both on the ground and in the air, plus get rid of the ball when required. In the air, he is very good and does a lot more than people think both defensively and offensively. Can we get better? Yes of course we can but he's been very good for us in the majority of games he's played in and is a big part of the reason we don't get tonked in some games. If you can tell me how we finished 5th last season with Willo playing most of that season and being so nervy and shite, I'd like to hear it.
  12. Aye, we are NUFC....we aren't Real Madrid yet.Willo is rated by the backroom staff because they see a hell of a lot more than you do and Willo is better than people make him out to be. Granted he's no world beater but he's effective and has proved it. When we have a team full of world beaters, we will see a bulging trophy cabinet of all cups from top to bottom.... A little tip though....don't hold your breath because as you say.."we are NUFC" and don;t possess the Billion pounds it would take to purchase those world beaters. Be thankful we have a team that can compete and not get humiliated like we have done in the past.
  13. Let's look at priorities. Naturally many fans are pissed off that we went out of this cup, which is fair enough and a natural reaction...I wasn't exactly happy about it either, yet what are our main priorities? The league cup is a potential trophy and when all is said and done, people tend to think it's the easiest trophy out of all that we can enter, so if we play our strongest team, then we have a good chance of winning it. It's a fair point in one way but it depends on who we get drawn against and who's taking the cup seriously among the elite clubs and also among the stronger clubs. For instance, it's clear that Alex Ferguson put out a side that potentially could beat us, yet his priority probably was in giving his young future stars the benefit of action at a higher level, which in fairness, Alan Pardew was doing in giving priority to the fringe players and youngsters with potential because win or lose, it aids in their development because of the better quality football being among the experienced players. We could have won that game last night and we didn't go out with a whimper. It took 2 good strikes to beat us, yet we had a host of chances to also put that game to bed. It didn't work out but equally we could have been playing doncaster or someone with a stronger squad and got knocked out with maybe injuries as the smaller teams tend to want their pound of flesh and battle like demons which usually evens games up against bigger clubs, yet a defeat against Doncaster would create a fans backlash as in, they're not up for the fight. Against Man Utd, we were up for the fight and could easily be in the next round for the sake of a bit of good fortune. We played Colo who has just came back from injury and got some much needed game time, the same as Tiote and Cisse has just kicked off his season with his goal and performance and very nearly a goal of the season, so there's plusses in that added to Bigirimana, Ferguson, Vuckic, Tavernier and Elliot all getting more game time in of which all of them will take big heart from a game like this which will benefit us as the season goes on. Our priorities , considering we are still a club in transition, should be the league (high finish, possibly top 6 but a top 4 hope), then Europa, then the FA cup. We cannot play our strongest team in all competitions for obvious reasons as injury and suspensions will inevitably take their toll as will fatigue. Any Sunday league player or armchair fitness fanatics will say, " look at the money they are on, they should be able to play 3 times a week all year round." Yes you do get people saying that but the reality of it , is gone with people like that because they don't see the training and fitness work that goes into getting players ready for just 1 game, never mind a few off the bounce and the pace of the game, which any ordinary person can see will wipe out most top players if they had to play in every game. For this club to prosper, we have to look at all competitions and prioritise them whilst also bringing through the very people who are being groomed for the future of this club, which are the youngsters, who the club appear fully focused on using in the very near future, who require a taste of the action at certain times throughout the season whether it's from the bench or in competitions. Raising the profile of the club will not come on the back of winning the league cup, if we suffer for that with a low league finish. If the club want to raise it's profile, it needs to concentrate on the bread and butter of what builds it, which in fairness would be a high league finish with Euro qualification again, or better as in Champions league, which will show that we as a club are continuing to progress, which makes us much more of a proposition to future potential signings. We aren't yet in a position to field 2 full on strong sides like Chelsea and Man City etc, can do, so we have to play it carefully. Just think if we played the best possible side last night and narrowly got beat, yet we ended up with a few injuries that required a few weeks to clear up.... Certain fans would be up in arms shouting, " Pardew, you useless bastard, why risk putting out the best players for a Mickey Mouse cup." Yes...the very same people who scream about this cup being ultra important and want a full on strongest team ethic, would soon be on Pardew's back if anything went wrong and change their tune to, " why didn't he field the fringe players." You can't win with some fans. For those that are expectant on something this season...HOLD YOUR HORSES... we are still fighting for all but one trophy and it's a live in hope and should not be lived on any expectation of beating any team just because you think it's our time to win a cup because all fans of all clubs think the same and all clubs at the top end will prioritise, yet some will gamble relegation for the chance of cup success...we do not want to be one of those do we?
  14. WE did it and we did it in style with a team that were all fighting for the cause , with the dead wood gone.. In football, you gamble..and if it pays off, you prosper...and if your gamble fails with no contingency plan....(Leeds United), you suffer the consequences. We were a club in dire trouble, took over by a billionaire who was football clueless but had a desire to put Newcastle United on the map. He messed up in his choices, yet stuck in and proved that he had the balls to carry it forward and we are reaping the rewards, slowly but surely of that. If some people stopped living in the past, they might actually realise that this club is as strong, if not stronger than it's ever been and rebuilding a club of this stature requires a cruel to be kind mentality which is working a treat.
  15. Of course we would all celebrate winning the league cup...as any other cup but some of us are more in acceptance that these cups are a lottery as Birmingham and Boro have proved and even Cardiff in getting to the final and unluckily losing. The real piss and moaning would be more acceptable if we fielded a full on first team against reserves and went out, with injuries ans suspensions caning us of progressing in any competition. Until one person who thinks Pardew is off the mark, wears his shoes and juggles everything needed to win what you want to win, then accept that what he does is a hard job and he has to do what he sees fit for the target in hand whether we win or lose.
  16. Relegation was the making of what this club is right now.We needed that to get rid of the shit mercenary bastards that we had on board and we did get rid, which is why we are playing in Europa and are (as fans) EXPECTING to beat teams we would have otherwise hoped to beat just a few short years ago.
  17. We went out of all competitions last season and are now in the Europa league. The domestic cups are but two and are both won by basically luck, not careful planning.
  18. If it wasn't for his money we would be playing In league 1 at best.

    Evolution.

This is where the belief in magic occurs.Sometimes common sense is better deployed when shit like this is bandied about. We get told that cornflakes can cause cancer...we get told that sunlight causes skin cancer...we get told that eating too much red meat causes cancer and white meat and fish with OMEGA 3 is the way to go, yet none of it proves anything in reality, it's just that scientists have to have a reason to exist on the money they are on. Scientists have supposedly spent millions upon millions upon millions fighting cancer and yet after all this untold amount of money, they come up with Chemo...a treatment that is basically for want of a better word.......CRAP. Evolution of cancer should have consumed the entire human race in an aggressive form due to mans inability to cure it, yet we still stumble along getting treated and a percentage of us don;t make it, including many of my own family. Evolution as we know it, is mans lottery on the life of the weak and vulnerable that creates what they believe is the stronger people, which makes sense when you think about all the top people in the world tend to live to 100 or thereabouts, yet the meek who succumb to disease and get treatment, last for a few years, with the odd ones defying it. Evolution today is mans own doing, it will be called mutants as time goes on.
  20. Yeah, what we should have done, is put all our best players out against Man Utd's 'mostly' second string or injury comeback kings and took a big chance on no injuries, plus giving the fringe players a big fat red light saying, ," you keep playing in the reserve games, we don't trust you." We gave a decent account of ourselves tonight..and on a better night, we could have actually won that game but sometimes circumstances dictate otherwise....especially at old trafford.
  21. ap ink a behher ber wod gee gancions leabue fsmish, gulp.... Sorry about that I had a mouthful of sarnie. I think a better bet would be a champions league finish.

    Evolution.

Ah well that clears that up.
  23. Why are some people acting like we have been beat before the game starts? You're Newcastle fans aren't you? At least have some faith in the team.

    Evolution.

We can't emulate, today, what those from from hundreds and hundreds of years ago managed to do, even with the heavy machinery we have. Something seems amiss there. I mean, we supposedly can identify dinosaurs bones and calculate them to be 65 million years old (cough cough), yet we can't fathom out how certain things were built not too long ago. It seems that we are getting more and more dumbed down but actually believe we are more advanced due to our ability to be able to tap a few keys or operate a few machines, yet in reality we are far far less skilled than even 100 years ago in the main.
