  1. " I fully expect plenty more tight fistedness this window and we'll land a bunch of players that no one else has interest in and hope they can do something. " Spot on mate if we wanted we should have been able to make both Ings & Austin offers they couldn't refuse. There's supposed to be £34 million from last year before we start on the "war chest"
  2. QPR want £15 million for Austin we're "considering offering £9 million" it's never going to happen is it ?
  3. Aye your right mate it's all smoke & mirrors again.
  4. Apparently Southampton & West Ham are in for Austin.
  5. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-transfers-andy-carroll-offered-5877172 Apparently it's a Mirror exclusive Carroll to be offered pay as you play deal in other words "here we go again"
  6. "Please come back Chris we're sorry and all that mate, Uncle Steve is going to make it all better" i take it there's been no upturn in season tickets sales since McLarens appointment ?
  7. Sorry mate i missed it i hope it was a good 'un all the best Trooper
  8. Ah well if it's not going to be Austin it'll probably be Carroll (again)
  9. http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/06/charlie-austin-is-a-done-deal-inside-reports/ The Mirror saying its a done deal for Austin & Berahino's next.
  10. I thought we were after this Charlie Austin chap any news ?
  11. Mark Douglas; ‘Michael Laudrup wanted to talk, and so did Frank de Boer. For a couple of days last week, Patrick Vieira was open to the idea…There had been others, too. With Remi Garde it went as far as the interview process while Christophe Galtier and Jocelyn Gourvennec, two of France’s brightest young managerial talents, would have been amenable. Yet Newcastle took a head count of these candidates – one of two of whom might have had a seriously transformative impact on the club – and went, instead, for Steve McClaren.’ Ashley could have made a statement of intent by having a go with any one of the above but he seem's hell bent on going for McLaren.
  12. I think it'll all end in tears whem McLaren realise's what he's got into with Ashley & Charnley.
  13. I suppose it now remains to be seen if Ashley puts his money were his mouth is because if he expects McLaren to push on and win something then we're going to have to invest heavily in the team first and foremost we need something that Newcastle United have always been notorius for and thats a good old fashioned centre forward a proven goal scorer. Then we need to shore up the defence give Krul (if he's staying something decent in front of him. We need a bigger squad than we have to cover injuries if Ashley means what he says this is were he has to start.
  14. He has to be accepted as the alternative is Carver, over 80 applicants and this is were we ended up.
  15. It's hard to believe people are accepting and even willing McLaren to take the job he really is only a sideways step from Pardew. Admittedly he's better than Carver and maybe's that is why people want McLaren because the alternative would be to much to bear.
  16. Part of me is wanting McLaren to say no just to see if Ashley would dare to give it to Carver.
  17. Maybe's things will settle down once the new manager headcoach job is sorted out.
  18. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/06/04/report-yohan-cabaye-knocks-back-aston-villa-approach-wants-cryst/ Knocked back a move to Aston Villa wants to join Crystal Palace.
  19. ARE YOU…. Desperate? Out of work? Have no professional pride? Willing to work for less than anybody else in equivalent posts? Happy to have no say in how you carry out your role? Willing to take on an existing support team who have proved not up to the job? Be prepared to say anything you are told to say when speaking to the media? Able to face humiliation and to be seen as a laughing stock? Not bothered about saying something that contradicts what you said yesterday? Manage a demoralised, mainly foreign, (relatively) low wage unmotivated workforce? Don’t mind working without the necessary ‘Tools’ for the job? We have just the job for you. Apply in crayon to: Mr Lee Charnley Chief (Executive) Clown St James’ Park Circus Newcastle Upon Tyne (Can) NE1 (please come and save us from Mike Ashley…?) (***This Head Coach job has been previously advertised, any credible people who have already been in touch – don’t bother us again) - See more at: http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/06/newcastle-managerhead-coach-job-re-advertised/#sthash.Bbn5at0Q.dpuf
  20. McLarens managerial career 1995–1999Derby County (assistant) 1999–2001Manchester United (assistant) 2000–2002England (assistant) 2001–2006Middlesbrough 2004–2006England (assistant) 2006–2007England 2008–2010FC Twente 2010–2011VfL Wolfsburg 2011Nottingham Forest 2012–2013FC Twente 2013Queens Park Rangers (coach) 2013–2015Derby County Well he's certainly had some jobs
  21. Nobody is disputing we are a big club and SHOULD be able to attract a top class manager. But the fact that Ashley owns the club and has left it up to Charnley (who knows fuck all about football) in charge of recruiting a new headcoach/manager with the constraints that come with it. That's what sticks in my throat. Keegan told us ages ago these fuckers dont know how to run a football club if people think McLaren is acceptable to take up this job then it really shows how far down Ashley has dragged expectations McLaren = Pardew it'll all end in tears.
