Personally I would have taken Defoe. I understand his limitations. He's coming towards the end of his career now and probably never was an international class player. That said, that goal he scored in Poland - there are few strikers in England over the years who could have done that given the space he had to work in. But, Hodgson doesn't have a lad who'll sniff around the 6 yard box. Vardy, Kane, Sturridge aren't that type of player; so perhaps Hodgson has limited England's options. At that level you'll get one chance come your way against the better teams and I'd back Defoe to take that chance over some of the other players he's taking. Either way, couldn't give a fuck as not that interested in England and better for us in that he'll get a break over the summer.

In English law there are concepts such as: Habeas Corpus, Due Process, Innocent Until Proven Guilty, Trial by a Jury of Peers.
