  1. I hope we truly hump them in front of their own fans. Blue Brazil my foot.

after losing their in the cup and their fans giving it the big one i really hope we stuff them. the fact it was our reserves/youths seemed to pass them by.

  2. Anyone see the ruck on the bridge after the game?...doubt if it was organised, just some young uns in stone island jumpers kicking off after a bit of chanting and name calling....silly fuckers there was filth everywhere :(

saw the aftermath, with various lads on the floor and dogs all over the place.

  3. I thought Tim Krul was excellent last night. Him and Steven Taylor kept it respectable. The first penalty shout was as stonewall as you can get. The second, not so much but could easily have been given.

Krul's kicking was pretty poor generally.

    first penalty was definite.

Lua Lua was putting some effort in but that means nothing if you can't cross or pass the ball to someone in the same shirt.

Smith made the first proper defensive header of the night when he came on...

  4. I'm glad we played a patchwork team and didn't suffer any more injuries.

I can't help feeling that we would have been beaten with a full strength team! I've only seen the Leicester and Plymouth games live, and the WBA game on the telly, and I am not convinced about us tbh, not convinced at all.

nah, a full strength team and we would have been fine - they had a full strength team out. our lot looked physically smaller, when the triple substitution came on they actually looked the same size, which helps.

the kids didn't know what they were doing. vukcic in particular was terrible.

  5. I know I don't really need to say this, 'cause you'll be doing it anyway. But just to say:

To the people who are able to attend the game at Villa, scream and shout your hearts out extra loudly for the lads ... if only to remind them that there are tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of people around the globe who can't attend but who will be holding their breath and hoping WE can pull ourselves out of this situation.

    I so love this club.

edited: this team, with few exceptions, couldn't give a shit and are cunts.

  6. It's a long-shot...

are there any Mags in Manila wanting to watch the match, celebrate, drown their sorrows this weekend?

I suffered the fulham game with a load of cocky man utd fans and can't face the same again.

    cheers.

What was it like over there for the Hatton Pacman fight?

the streets were silent. then very loud. cinemas were showing it.

then the homecoming was insane, national day of celebration etc...

shame he's spoiling it all by trying to become a politician.

  8. i just saw that the first four names were leaving, which only left collo and guti on the list... then the mention of a doctor in the next paragraph... my bad spanish translation...

I think it says that the first 4 players named are leaving at 10 o'clock, the others at 18.15. I'm not sure if it says that the docs will leave with them.

the doctors are staying with them, probably to ensure they actually get on the flights. nothing more.

  9. Done. Seems like the 39th game thing has gone a bit quiet btw.

    quiet but definitely not forgotten.

there was an article on the business of sport which interviewed scudamore and he was talking about the possibilities of game 39, especially if forthcoming tv deals aren't as big.

  10. Lets hope Colo and Jonas turn it up a gear for Diego Milito though...

and hope that it's the milito of two seasons ago who turns up.

seriously though, zaragoza have got to sell. they have 5 strikers, three of them internationals to play in segunda, and they've just signed another player who can play in that position. if they don't go up this season they're going to go into freefall.

  11. both aimar and matuzalem have spent a large part of this season injured though.

However the season before aimar was dynamite for zaragoza, he was a joy to watch.

and zaragoza have just managed to get hold of a pretty decent coach so we'll see what happens.

  12. Hughes for me. Least risky bet, right type of character.

you'd best add Camacho to that list.

According to Marca he'll be our manager for 2008-09.

My Spanish is non-existent, but if I'm reading that article correctly it says Camacho will take over in 2008/2009 after Newcastle started talks with him over the festive period, is that right?

    yes, that's correct.
