Wigan manager Steve Bruce has launched a scathing attack on Amr Zaki after the Egyptian failed to return from international duty on time. The on-loan striker was due back in Wigan on Tuesday, more than 36 hours after he had taken part in a World Cup qualifier against Zambia. Sky Sports News understands Iain Dowie will join Newcastle United as Alan Shearer's assistant. An official statement from the club with regards Shearer's appointment will be made on Wednesday afternoon, but it would appear he is already putting in place his own people.
