  1. Haha class. There's one user on Youtube who has a montage of the United 93 crash site asking "Where's The Plane?", and then in another one by him, he's saying it was shot down. F*cking hell, which one is it? There's either a plane or there wasn't, you can't have both. :(

  2. Incompetence =/= conspiracy.

Thats what you call plausible deniability.

    Yes.

And also I find it might strange that on both days...ie 7/7 and 9/11 there were exercises going on to prevent the very same type of attacks.

A few months ago, we had a fire drill at work. Two hours later, one of the fryers set on fire and set the ansul system off and we had to evacuate in the car park. Two months later, the owners of the company put Little Chef into liquidation and it was only a last minute deal with another company which kept Little Chef open. I now believe that the two owners, in order to try and gain some insurance money, tipped off the cook to burn down the building and kill the 8 customers we had in at the time.

(this did actually happen by the way)

  3. "It is a truth that a terrorist can attack any time, any place, using any technique and it's physically impossible to defend at every time and every place against every conceivable technique. Here we're talking about plastic knives and using an American Airlines flight filed with our citizens, and the MISSILE to damage this building and similar (inaudible) that damaged the World Trade Center. The only way to deal with this problem is by taking the battle to the terrorists, wherever they are, and dealing with them."

Donald Rumsfeld answering Parade Magazine reporter Lyric Wallwork Winik in Pentagon Press Conference Oct.12, 2001. (Posted on the Pentagon website)

....even Donnie can't remember what version of the story he is telling...

When a plastic bottle is thrown onto a football pitch, it's referred to as a "missile" is it not? When Martin Tyler is saying "there's missiles being thrown onto the pitch", believe it or not, he hasn't lost the plot and believes that those plastic bottles are weapons.

  4. scored a goal and set up another with a superb piece of vision, controlled passing and ability, in the Nou Camp. Which sums up his game, and his value to his club.

He could have played in the Nou Camp in a Newcastle shirt. But because he loves the club so much and doing what was best for the team, he decided he'd punch Materazzi in the first 5 minutes of the first group game against Inter, helping the team to a 10-man 4-1 home defeat, and then being suspended for the trip to Barcelona.

  5. Doubt it. Supposing it isn't all bollocks, I reckon the 'stars' will stick together and Barton will be out the squad next time round.

Haha, was on a PSG forum a few months ago asking why Robert was never selected in the France squad as soon as he signed for us,and someone said one of the reasons was because he had a rant in training that the system was suited too much to accommodate Zidane rather than the wingers and most of the senior French stars like Thuram, Dugarry, Djorkaeff & Zidane fell out with him. ;):lol:

  6. James makes more mistakes, but is the better goalkeeper. I bet over the course of the season he prevents more goals from his all round command of the box and shot-stopping, even with his errors. Could easily put up with the mistakes. I suppose it's like a centre-forward. Bellamy misses hatfuls of chances, but because his all-round game is excellent, you accept these over someone like say Andy Johnson who is a better finisher but not a better player.

  7. No other defender in the world could make Bramble look as good as Woody made him.

At the time we sold him, it was great business from the club. I just wish we'd taken the risk in summer and got him back.

Yep I agree there. Sell him for £14m, let Real Madrid give him 2-years rehab, operations, etc. then sign him back on loan when his injury problems have been solved. I remember in the 2003-4 season, it was always Campbell & Ferdinand, with Terry & Woodgate neck and neck behind them.

  8. They've said £20m because they don't want to sell him. Simple as. Why should they turn around to West Ham and say, "well actually you're right, that is a bit mental. Here, take him for £4m."? I say fair play to Bruce for sticking to his guns on this one.

  9. This debate has been done to death before but I think it's perfectly understandable why he chose Newcastle at the time.

As has already been said it was the perfect opportunity for him at the time. You were flying high, SJH & Keegan had created a massive feelgood factor and the feeling in football at the time (not just from you lot) was that trophies were just around the corner.

That must have been a dream come true for him, the chance to lead your club to their first major trophies for decades. If you think he's a hero now just imagine if he'd achieved that

I suspect Gary Nev is a little more puzzled as to why he chose Blackburn when he did, as am I. OK Jack Walker was pumping big money into the club but I don't think anybody really saw them as a long term succesful club.

It would have been an interesting dilemma for Shearer though. If he'd chosen Man Utd over Blackburn at the time, would he have then left Man Utd to join the Newcastle 'revival'. I guess we'll never know the answer to that one <_<

Again though, it was at a time Blackburn were building something useful. In his first 3 years there, he finished 4th, 2nd, 1st, so it's not like he joined a nothing team, and in 1992 when he joined Blackburn, Man U had won only a few cups in some time, not the force they were soon to become.
