GK - Krul, Elliott, Sels, Darlow RB - Janmaat, Gamez, Mbabu, Sterry, Anita* CB - Mbemba, Lascelles, Hanley, Clark, Dummett, Hayden* LB - Dummett*, Gamez*, Clark, Haidara, Colback*, Mbabu DM - Hayden, Tiote, Anita, Colback, Saivet, Clark* CM - Diame, Shelvey, Anita, Colback, RW - Ritchie, Aarons, Gouffran, Perez*, Janmaat* AM - Diame, Perez, Ritchie* LW - Aarons, Ritchie, Gouffran*, Perez* CF - Mitrovic, Gayle, Armstrong, Perez, That's depth, and when a couple of positions are strengthened (either by returning players or new additions) and it clicks, it's strength in depth. Also, if you're this pessimistic, why the fuck have you predicted Newcastle to win by 4+ goals in each of the three rounds of games?

Tupperware box with leftover bolognese/chilli/whatever you can microwave is perfect to get you through a hangover at work.

Pretty much same first team isn't it?

and elbow patches.

Reckon they've got a better balance to their first teams, but we've better depth. It's just currently unbalanced. 2-3 more signings and we're in much, much better shape imo.
-
I know that most of it is an instant knee-jerk emotional reaction to a disappointing result against a side most didn't fancy. But Huddersfield are going to surprise a lot of teams this year imo. I think worrying about not getting promoted after 2 games is way too early, especially when we've not yet played what most would consider our 1st team.

Nope, and wouldn't bother, but I reckon it's the marketing that's bothering people more than the actual product.
-
Anonymously.

Who does?

misses 2 more games through suspension, should be back for the Cheltenham cup game, or the Brighton game in the league.
-
there's a few stats doing the round on twitter;

Just so I'm clear, we're losing our collective shit at the way a packed lunch box is being marketed?
-
No, it's not a great start. But there's still 132pts still to be played for. There's still 22 home games and 22 away games left. We could lose 10 more games and still finish with over 100pts*. It's not time to be saying "if we continue like this we'll go down." because we don't know what the side will look like when the new players are settled, any future signings are finalised and 1st team are all back. Mitrovic will provide focus and a physical presence up front. I think he'll bring more out of Gayle and Perez and certainly more from our wide players. I think that'll add to our ability to defend set-pieces too. I think Diame and Ritchie are good players in this division and will produce for us, given time. I think our form is going to come from the realisation that we've the strongest squad in the division and the confidence that players like Mitrovic, Ritchie and Diame will bring out of the others. Rafa's got a few things wrong and should be criticised for them, but lets not meltdown after 2 games. *I, in no way, think this is going to happen.
-
Aye, that's what I meant, Diame central, Perez/Gayle playing off Mitrovic with 2 of Ritchie, Aarons and the other of Gayle and Perez playing the wide positions.
-
Looks like Jaap Stam wants them playing a possession game and because of this it could be another turgid affair, with neither side actually fucking creating anything. Wolves beat them by playing a high intensity pressing game and seizing on defensive mistakes. Hopefully we can start with Ritchie as I don't think I could cope with Anita pretending to be a right winger. I'd also give Gamez a run out as he surely, SURELY can't do any worse than Dummett? Drop Shelvey as well. Is it just me or is he not a creative source he's just... I'm struggling to explain what I mean so bear with me. It's like if Janmaat makes a good run into space, Shelvey can find him with a 40yd ball to feet. But if Perez begins a good run, Shelvey lacks the vision or alacrity of thought to slide a pass through. Cabaye could launch a long ball for Ba to volley (Norwich?), or slide it through for Cisse to get on the end of (Swansea?). Shelvey seems to need the recipient to do telegraph the move for him to spot it. I dunno, I don't think I'm explaining myself very well. Was really hoping we'd have Galloway (or another specialised left back) in by now. Forestieri could be a good signing, but on top of people saying it's a non-starter, I think we need more.

Isn't he an injury concern? Anyway I'd expect us to play Diame alongside Hayden/Anita/Colback when Mitrovic comes back.

The pants being pissed in this thread man

Incredible that it's taken this long.

Mate of mine failed within 30 seconds of starting. He didn't put his belt on

About 4 lads around my school year went onto to get a pro contract. Adam Sadler went on to be a coach after an injury ended his career, but he was on Man Utd's books as a 'keeper for a bit. Anthony Shandran played for Burnley briefly, then journeymanned his way round Scottish and semi pro teams. Played at Blyth and Gateshead (I think) for a bit. Not bad for a shitty little school in Seaton Delaval.

Apparently the club phone lines are down because of an external issue.
-
Where. Is. That?
-
Apparently it's on BBC Newcastle but if you're not in the region you have to subscribe to the club's media thing for £4 per month to listen (unless our resident techs know of a way around it?). Beyond that you're relying on periscopes and the highlights
