The Chron says Ashley wears the Smith shirt because he is a footballer that is the embodiment of passion and commitment.

Ridsdale was worse in my opinion, at least Fred can blame the insatiable demands of the geordie fans, Leeds was more of a personal ego mission for Ridsdale. You have to ask why he went to Cardiff, what's driving him?

Sad things is this was a completely predictable response from Sam. Man up for crying out loud.

Was there any point even turning up then? Should we have just conceded? "Get a grip"? Who likes losing, ever? No one likes to lose, but you're coming across as hysterical. That's a bit of an overstatement don't you think? Where have I been hysterical?

In our last 5 trips to Arsenal we lost by more than 1 goal once. We even managed to hold this team to 1-1: Lehmann, Eboue, Toure, Gallas, Clichy, Hleb, Fabregas, Julio Baptista (Walcott, 64), Flamini, Van Persie (Henry, 46), Adebayor

What are we losing by keeping him? £103,000 per week, apparently. Are we short of money? It's not a question of being short of money, it's about keeping hold of a player that's permanently injured when we could be using his wages to sign someone who isn't missing the majority of the time. Like who? "It's not about money it's about using his wages for someone else" - so it is about money then isn't it. Who exactly is not coming to NUFC because we have Owen? Unless you think we should continue with a player who's injury prone just so we can get the odd game out of him? That's exactly what I'm saying, unless you convince me there are strikers refusing to come to NUFC because he is here, or that Owen's wages are stopping us buying another striker. It's not a case of strikers refusing to come here, it's a case of us not signing another striker because we're already overstocked in that area. Is it really that hard for you to get your head around? We aren't overstocked. If you think we're not buying another striker because we have Owen then I have to disagree. The issue is we don't have enough good strikers to cover for any of them getting injured, nothing to do with Owen himself.

"Newcastle should have equalised shortly after but Martins' nonchalant effort after rounding Fabianski allowed Senderos time to get back and clear." Sounds like he reads the board and tried to place it this time

But even you'll agree that under the current circimstances, Martins should be starting the next 2-3 league games. Needs to get a decent run and get some confidence to be effective. He starts by default unfortunately, yes. Why not start Smith up there? Even if he had started up front, I couldn't see him staying there too long tonight.

Fuck this shit. Fuck Emre. Fuck Sam. Fuck Arsenal. Fuck Denilson.
-
Would you stop. He didn't play for us since April, had two crap matches for Turkey. What did you expect honestly? A substition to improve the situation? Then slate Sam ffs, HE had other options, not Emre. omg who do you want on like....fucking super man or something just fuckin get over the fact that emre was probs the best option we had to put in on midfield Doesn't fucking matter now does it? He improved nothing, so don't put him on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

youv got him mixed up with luque....emre for me gets stuck into every challenge Does he win the ball? Do we gain possession from his presence on the pitch? Seeing as he is also the playmaker? Yes, he does actually win the ball a lot (and loses it later). If that's a defence I don't want you as my next lawyer. Your argument was about winning the ball, not about keeping it tbh. Your argument is about winning the game. Can't do that without keeping the ball in the few fleeting times it will be out of our defence. Now with Ameobi off Martins will have to beat 2 men everytime. Has he? I guess Smith is now playing in a more advanced role as well. And as much as I have my reservations about Emre's abilities I have more hope in him to do something useful than I have in Ameobi. This was my whole argument at the beginning. And I already bored with this nonsense now... 4-5-1. Martins marked out the game, Arsenal passing it round the park with ease.
