if Shay given weren't one of the worst kickers of a football , he might be one of the best keepers in the world. (but if we get a new manager , we get a new goalkeeping couch , yeah ?) maybe we should put Harper in goal (I think he's a good keeper ... he also used to look like Shay so maybe nobody would notice. then we bring Shay outfield for a spot of kicking the ball , maybe instead of Alan Smith, would anyone spot the difference there?)

Stephen Carr - used to be able to play football but now well past his sell by date, how is he making the Newcastle first 11 ! Alan Smith - it's hard to know where to start but then you see he's captain and think you must be from a different planet Cacapa - great pedigree but havent seen him play before so maybe he made a career out of passing back to the keeper Nicky Butt - used to be a class footballer , still has the heart of a lion but you cant base a team around him. (and if he had 10 decent layers around him he might get a chance to show his class)

well it's probably one of the few ways he gets exposed to the hoi polloi , except when he's sitting in the crowd at a match surrounded my minders cleverly desguised to look like yer average toon supporter.

Does anyone else think Mike Ashley might have the odd look at this forum to see what the fans think? He's obviously shown he likes to hang out with the average toon supporter, this is one of very few popular boards dealing with all things toon and he could lurk here anonymously. Am I just being nieve ? If he did give the occassional look , what would he make of it ?
