  1. I wonder who that could be. He can afford it. "Popular" "Major club" I'm struggling to be honest. Michael has a massive following in the far east and if Sky are to be believed you are a MASSIVE club.

  3. Bad news for you lot IMO. Keegans motivation can only take you so far. You need two quality 11s to compete these days. Ashley's influence?
  4. Around Christmas time he was brilliant. Got injured after the final and tailed off a bit. If he could play that way consistantly he would be a top player. Get the feeling his head is in the clouds some of the time.
  5. Stop it! Danny you mentioned Malbranque as a Comolli success, you don't think Modric's transfer will undermine him and his position in the squad? Yep I think both Malbranque and Jenas have to work for their places now on the arrival of Modric. So with that in mind isn't Comolli undermining spurs squad, the team harmony? (Jenas is shite and shouldn;t even be in the same sentence as Malbranque). Especially when he keeps doing it to players who are in their prime and with form (Bent/Defoe are other examples). If you look at Ferguson's success it is about slowly building around the foundation that is there, not buying direct competition for his better players and upsetting the balance. Unfortunately our management wont be given the same amount of time to achieve success as SAF was, its now or never. Oh and Jenas is a better player than Malbranque.

DB taking the deals in the pipe into account what would be your preferred starting 11 next term? ------------------Berbatov--------Keane--------------- -----------Modric---------------------Lennon ------Gilberto-----------Diarra-------------- Bale----------King (Dunne)--------Woody-------Hutton

  8. Im not WUM unlike that Torres fella. Just like to hear the views of other fans. Even you barcodes
  9. Why are Barca letting Dos Santos go? It will take a while for Modric to acclimatise to the PL. I wouldn't expect too much from him first season. Why did Barca let Fabregas go? Of course its a gamble mate, every transfer is but he has the tools to do the job but he will never start for them with the attacking taslent they have at their disposal. How much is Dos Santos? My worries about him is that he just is soooo tiny. Very skillful player agreed. Commolli totally fucked up transfer wise last season, so we'll see. Really? I consider the Hutton / Woodgate / Gilberto winter window a success. Gilberto is 32 and you paid Zanetti money for Hutton. Gilberto is a stop gap (we got him for next to nothing), Hutton is awesome.

I consider the Hutton / Woodgate / Gilberto winter window a success. It seems the natives are restless and the and the saltbeef isn't sliding down smoothly.... "I am seriously beginning to think that Comolli is either an Arsenal spy on a long-term mission to secure the permanent downfall of their North London rivals, or a bumbling fool who was fortunate enough to uncover a dark secret about Daniel Levy, and has agreed to keep schtum in exchange for continued employment. His record in the transfer market is nothing short of pitiful, and the fact that he is even in charge of transfers has only been made absolutely clear in recent months, in the fallout from the unforgivable sacking of Martin Jol. His rare successes, such as Dimitar Berbatov, are far outweighed by a startling number of overpriced and underperforming failures, most of whom cost the club obscene amounts of money. Assou-Ekotto, Zokora, Rocha, Kaboul, all bought on the recommendation of Comolli, and all failing to take the club any closer to long-term success. It's not only his apparent incompetence that angers me though, it's his apparent pettiness, a trait clearly shared by numerous individuals at the top of the Spurs hierarchy. If some newspapers are to be believed, he could well have advised the then England boss Steve McClaren to drop Paul Robinson simply because Robbo had dared to question the board's disgraceful behaviour with regards to Jol. Did he not for a second consider what being dropped for England's most important game in years might do to Robinson's already fragile confidence? Now it seems Defoe and Bent are to be the latest casualties of both a man and a club with absolutely no idea how to run a successful operation. Stewart Downing may well be the answer to our problems on the left side of midfield, and I am happy to give him the chance to prove the doubters wrong, but whilst one area of the side is being improved, why are we weakening another? Jermain Defoe is not one of the most popular Spurs players by accident, it's because he consistently scores vital goals, and has proved time and time again that he is a rare talent. He has publicly stated his desire to stay at the club, despite limited first-team opportunities, and the chances of replacing him with someone of a similar standing are slim indeed, so what is to be gained from offloading him to one of our Premier League rivals? Bent, meanwhile, has been given very little chance to prove himself worthy of the £16.5million price-tag that Comolli and the board presumably sanctioned just six months ago, so again, one has to ask, what has happened in those six months that has made him now surplus to requirements? It can't have anything to do with the change of manager, as it is well documented that Jol was not particularly enamoured with the signing in the first place, whilst Ramos has had but a handful of games to see Bent in action, three of which he scored in." There are alot of Spurs with that view. As I say, every signing is a gamble I would say half of the players he has signed have been good: Dimi / Malbranque / Woodgate / Bale / Hutton Some have been average: Zok / BAE / Gilberto /Bent Some have been poor: Kaboul / KPB I think he has done an OK job.
  11. Is Woodgate really worth his money? He's not looked anything like the player he was since RM. Although considering how much we paid for Smith..... He's been outstanding mate. I think I have counted 2 bad games from him since his arrival (one of which against you). Add to that a cup final winner and that transfer fee has already been justified. But two games is only just under Woody's usual annual game quota isn't it? His bench in the sick bay would get cold if he left it for any longer Touch wood (no pun intended) he has left those problems behind him.

  15. Knew it. Gloryhunter. Wins one thing in years of mediocrity and now he knows it all. Plastic. Makes Newcastle fans look top class. God you're an idiot. So I have followed through years of mediocrity and I'm a glory hunter? Doesnt really make sense does it. Shall we do a quiz about anfield? I reckon I have been there more times than you fella. You up for it?
  16. Is this national underachievers day or what? Brilliant, a spurs fan. How ambitious he must be? Win one cup and they come crawling outta the woodwork. 1 cup? I knew you were young but that is ridiculous. Seriously Torres, we have plenty of your lot round our way, I can tell a plastic from a mile away. Just think how much better it would be if you had any kind of connection to your club? We have plenty of your lot too..............................only noticed them about 6 weeks ago though. And I don`t expect to see much of them once the new season starts. Come on Torres, Wycombe has always been full of Spurs. Still at least they are in living in the right quater of the country eh?
  17. A trophy is a trophy. League cup, FA cup, Uefa, Champions league whatever. I would take any trophy over second place in the league any day of the week. The game isnt about money, its about glory.

  19. I can see it there fella. My point is that, although I would never accuse you're lot of being plastic jonny come latelys or anything like that but the media portrayal of the ever faithful "toon army" is just a bit of a one eyed "skyism".
  20. About the same time any comparable club was getting less people though, as some like to conveniently forget. And it was hardly the season ticket holders going to 'The Match', was it? And the Uefa two seasons back? Basically the tickets were too expensive for games on TV against poor European sides combined with poor football being played etc. If the tickets had been cheaper we'd have filled the ground. Let's not get too deep into this debate though, eh Danny? If for no other reason than 1) It's been done to death and 2) Arguing about past attendances is sad as fuck. Best not mention spuds gates of less than 15000 or worse still, 10000 in the 80's then
  21. Is it because his spending on shell suits helps fund Mike Ashley's spending on new players? Seriously though, its pretty obvious the bloke is a southerner, probably of school age, just here to get a rise out of you. He probably hasn't set foot anyway near Stanley Park. Remember: Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level.

Yeah we had the same problem against Bucherest 2 seasons back which they made cat A. Some tickets were £71!! We still almost filled it though. What's your capacity again? Bit stupid comparing your attendance to ours really. 36K you are correct though it is stupid to compare, we have a massive ST waiting list that we cant service because of the whole % of the ground thing. Still fingers crossed we will get a new ground soon.
