The 50K ceiling will be breached this year. Reports that DB is on 90K is rubbish. Trust me, it includes signing on fee. Just watch he will drop of the highest players list this year. And yes I do know this for a fact.

You see cheap tickets to encourage kids as a bad thing? Or segregating them from the true match experience. The whole idea of having a "family section". You cannot buy a ST to the north stand at WHL without having a kid in tow. Dont take your kids if you dont like it, why should we change? And why should you jump the ST waiting list? A red herring if you ask me. Just a chance to target the persistent offenders that won't sit down. The stewards are spread too thin policing the whole stadium. Seems to be the policy of all Prem teams to weed out real fans from their clubs.

Weird decision. Away fans were well out of the way where they were. Now they are going to have a real presence. Extended family sections Way of the world unfortunatly. Singing section? Whats that all about?

Thats what happens if you dont run a club within its means. Lets hope Roman does the same to Cheatski.

If we end up with no players (a big if btw!) I won't be blaming Spurs, I'll be blaming big Mike.... It's not his fault as soon as the papers get wind of our interest Spurs immediately ring up and offer "twice whatever Newcastle have offered for this pukka geezer". I dont think we have ever outbid you for a player have we? Add to that the fact we have a 50K wage ceiling. Players just want to play for us because we have a manager with a great reputation. Darren Bent is on 90k a week iirc. Absolute fabrication, he got a big signing on fee and this was factored into his wage. Don't believe what you read fella. We have the best wage to turnover % in the prem (45%) source? Some Deloittes report a few days back.

I have heard that he is soon to be a Spurs player. good lad. Hope he is an understudy to a more experianced keeper.

Yeah that's why I said historically we do fine, I mean the years after "success" and before Keegan and Hall. Like I said actually surviving that period could be argued to be the greatest "success" a club can have. Perhaps. But frankly anyone that completely discounts European finishes, genuinely challenging for the title (if not winning it) and Champions League football coming from where NUFC were not so long ago is simply an idiot. And again surviving the FFS years would probably count as a success in many books - although in fairness it might still be a bit premature to start talking about that. The problem is that no one ever remembers the runners up. You have fans now that dont remember the first KK era. Unfortunatly the exciting brand of football will be forgotton and you will be left with nothing tangible. Defining success by other people remembering you is a fools errand. Although even by those standards I'd say we're actually better remember from the 90's (and maybe under Robson too) than clubs that actually DID win stuff. Success / failure is almost wholly based round your legacy. in 50 years time the brand of football will be forgotten and the honours list will be criminally low for a club of your stature. I suspect in 50 years time no one will remember who won what in the 90's, but the legend/myth of Keegan's Newcastle will still live on. ha ha nice one

we've been pretty successful by any definition barring winning cups/leagues, and clearly only WUMs pretend that is the only definition of success. I must be a WUM then.

It doesn't make much sense (etymology-wise) either, at least stuff like barcodes kind of does. Especially if he is determined to restructure. It would make sense if a )we were a club with no real history of success b )we had never spent large amounts of money before But as neither of these are true, you're right, it doesn't make sense. It would fit if we were in QPR's position. Even so, it's a horrible and elitist implication that only certain clubs with 'old money' deserve wealth and success. Or at least that's how I see it, maybe I'm giving the spurs fans too much credit. a )we were a club with no real history of success - No comment. b )we had never spent large amounts of money before - Newcash was around pre Ashley.

Oh dear.

Nah its fine. You can have Ghastly, Hundredstone, Kevin Prince Boeteng, O'Hara and Lennon off us for 30mil. 5 players for 30 mil? Bargain.
-
I dont know anyone who particularly rates Lennon, Berbatov is quality and even a lot of Spurs fans think Jenas is rubbish. So I am not sure where you are coming from with that.
-
I'm not sure if I like the new slightly less dickheadish Torres. Dont get sucked in just because he has found someone new to try and wind up. I've checked and he is still a grade A cunt.
-
Good one.
-
For me its Bentley, Ashton and Gareth Barry. All lack any real pace, Bentley's delivery is certainly not Beckhamesque, Ashton is just a fat immobile Annie Lennox, Barrie is an OK player but nothing more, certainly not as good as the media makes him out to be.

Hopefully JT has played his last game for England.

They probably can, but they will have to pay handsomely for it. Not especially, his price is quite inflated. Thats what they said about Carrick and look how that worked out. I still don`t think Carrick was worth what they paid for him. But has no relation whatsoever to this. Carrick was PL proven though. I'd rather have Alonso than Carrick any day of the week. Oh dear me. That is why SAF is SAF and not just AF.
-
They probably can, but they will have to pay handsomely for it. How much will you end up paying for little Luka? 16.5 mil if he fulfills his potential. A lot of wedge in anybodies book. How does that work out? How do you figure when exactly someone has fulfilled his potential? Also, Danny, you and me both know you were on the WU, you're just trying to disguise it now that you've been rumbled Games played etc, its fairly normal to include these causes. Bale cost us 5 up front with 5 in clauses. No WU mate. Thats not what Im aboot.

Good player, but it normally takes about 6 months to adjust to the pace of the PL. There'll be no lah di dah time and he's going to have to think faster and be a lot fitter. From what I have seen of him he is very comfortable in possession and can pass with both feet, I dont see pace being an issue. Its his size that worries me he is VERY lightweight. We'll see. I am glad we have gambled on him.
