  1. The Man Utd game would have taken it out of our players, that's the kind of game it was but regardless of this professional footballers should be able to back up 3 days later and not fade like they did. Mental application was lacking.
  2. Capetown is a beautiful city, though I'd never want to live there knocking it out of the favourites list. Weather in London knocks it out, though I really enjoyed it - it was the first city in Europe that I visited. I'm not sure why so many have included Vegas. I guess there's lots going in there but there's nonsense of history - a bunch or massive casinos in the middle of a desert. I'm not a gambler though so perhaps that's part of it - that said it's fantastic for affordably priced lavish accommodation.
  3. Cabaye closer to a return than HBA last I read, Cabaye possibly early than anticipated (which to me means he might be back on time which is still a month away). Worrying that Ben Arfa is still that far away. I don't think there is a date on either Jonas or Anita yet though I could be wrong. Hopefully they'll both be available before Cabaye.
  4. It was delicious. Solanoesque but with the other foot. Wasn't pleased with the way he was standing at the top of the box for their 4th (I think) but attack wise he was very good.
  5. If Colo was to go we'd be completely stuffed, as it is James Perch as a starting centre back is testament to our current dire position. I'd father Ramage. The worst part is we were all aware of it, but the club failed to act during the window. This has been exacerbated by Tiote's self conversion to an attacking midfielder, leaving our extremely soft underbelly exposed. It was a complete shambles at the end, not sure whether it was fitness, effort, attitude or a combination that lead to it. Perhaps it was just a lack of cohesion and team work.
  6. Athens, Budapest, New York City, Rome.
  7. Pardew also confirmed midfielder Jonas Gutierrez faces a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury after missing the Boxing Day game. "He will be missing the next two or three games," he said. "Gutierrez will have an injection in his knee tomorrow. It is not clearing up and he is not 100%."
  8. We will bring on 2 players in the January window. At least 1 player will leave. We'll finish the season in the top 10.
  9. He wasn't that good against Man Utd in my opinion, however it was clear that in terms of technique he is far ahead of most other players in the side. His decision making wasn't great but that's to be expected given he hasn't played much in this side. He still doesnt strike me as the type of player that will put in the effort to get back when required, though happy to be proved otherwise. Ben Arfa is of course vastly superior, but an attacking midfield with Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Cabaye and Tiote should have enough defensive mettle.
  10. Colo embarrassed himself with the way he carried on there, on replay there wasn't much in it. If he had carried on defending highly unlikely that they would have scored IMO. Can't be fun getting one across the schnoz, but if you don't get the call you need to keep playing. Defensively in the second half we lost our shape.
  11. Two footed lunge from Valencia has smashed Anita's ankle. It should be a straight red without doubt.
  12. No doubt we won't get all 6 minutes of the 4 added now.
  13. Sameobi couldn't have gone closer without scoring...
  14. On replay Coloccini wants shooting for the way he took himself out of play for what ended up being van Persie's goal.
  15. First thought was that we got lucky then - could have easily been given as hand ball.
  16. First thought was that we got lucky then - could have easily been given as hand ball.
  17. This has been a crazy game, not what I was expecting.
  18. Nice work Obertan, and that's the Cisse we've been missing!!
  19. Bollocks, think Krul could have done better there.
  20. This is right. The ball never got through to where Cisse was AND it was blatantly Evans who initiated the contact between the two (pushing Cisse illegally) so there is no argument for him interfering with play from an offside position.
  21. Commentators here made a good point, if it had correctly been given a goal straight away there would not have been this level of conjecture.
