@ewerk would disagree This sent me back to the arse wiping thread and the wonderful detail from @Happy Face https://www.toontastic.net/board/topic/17342-wiping-your-arse/?do=findComment&comment=411702

Those figures are obvs just for remainers who are constantly shitting themselves as they feast on project fear stories. No way I go through 2 1/2 rolls a week.

German car workers go to her

One day.... In other news, Merkel stepping down as leader of CDU following 2nd poor election results.
-
Yes, I raised it 2 days before, Cant recall it being discussed much until I did and certainly not how it would complicate getting a deal.
-
As you know fine well, the issue wasn’t given the prominence it should have had given how important it’s become post vote. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall you banging on about it before the vote.
-
I don’t disagree about the pre refferendum planning. Very few if anybody was discussing the consequences of the Irish border. But we are where we are and because it is in everyone’s interest to reach a withdrawal deal, I’m fairly certain one will be agreed. We are in the final “tunnel”. May will agree a deal, it will come back to parliament and a binary choice will be given, deal or no deal. Labour and conservative remainers will come under intense pressure to agree a deal that has been agreed by the EU 27 and the U.K. government.
-
This, however is a new situation for the EU, complicated by the EU land border which is why both sides are working towards a solution.
-
Well that self imposed exile went well I’m glad your back, I was missing you My only real prediction is that we’ll do the withdrawal deal very soon and head off to the transition period for 2/3 years. What happens then is finger in the air stuff really. May will have gone and it depends who replaces her. Personally I think the party will realise there’s more to life than Brexit and go with one of the younger generation. That person will rightly concentrate on domestic stuff with an eye on 2022 election. Quietly behind the scenes the final deal will get done which will be as I said in 2016, some sort of bespoke associate arrangement that creates a U.K. wide custom union and a free trade deal. There’s lots of chatter about a new bespoke efta/eea pillar just for us but as the greatest legal Eu / U.K. minds are arguing about it on Twitter, I’ll refrain.
-
But we won’t be in the EU. At essence we are arranging a free trade deal. The Irish border is the main thing making this less straightforward and it is therefor up to both sides to find a solution. (As is happening).
-
See you in 3 years then. As it happens I don’t expect the EU to “capitulate”, I expect a deal to be agreed in the next few weeks as it’s EVERYONES interests.
-
You don’t even seem able to comprehend the stupidity or bias of your own remarks “EU’s proposals are firm and the UK’ unacceptable”. The truth is that it’s a negogiation and both sides have put forward proposals that are unacceptable to each other.
-
Come back when they’ve offered Canada for the U.K. and not GB
-
Nicely dodging my remarks. I know little about you other than you once got paraded around the village in a cart and used to be a Tory. Just because you happen to live where you do doesn’t necessarily mean you have a great insight into the complexities of the Brexit situation. Rather than my dads bigger than than your dad, much better stick to the subject matter. As both sides have ruled out a border, what will happen? I would suggest more trusted traders, a few more checks at factories and maybe the odd camera.
-
Suggest you spend today studying geography
-
So now you agree with me that it’s for GB and not the U.K. That was hard work. Sleep well.
-
So as I said, they’ve offered Canada to cover GB, not U.K.
-
Or you could just read the detail of what you are posting rather than the headline.
-
You are fucking clueless. What the EU offered was Canada for GB not the UK You should be paying me.
-
They haven’t offered Canada to the U.K.
-
The whole history of the EU is about finding a model to make things happen. The EU is desperate for smooth trade to continue and will once again adjust to accommodate.
-
It shows their red lines have changed numerous times to suit different situations. I love also how you are so adamant that their negotiating position is unmovable but ours is not. Thank god your not batting for us. As for the Canada option I doubt that would lead to the drama you suggest or a return to terrorism in NI. Time has moved on and I doubt the odd camera (there all over already), would make a difference. And let’s not forget that in the event of no deal, The Irish Government and the U.K. have all said that they won’t put up a hard border. I’m not sure anyone on here actually mentioned the Irish border pre vote. If they did, I certainly don’t recall anyone making it a massive issue. As for your last paragraph, typical Renton bollocks. I showed you yesterday that even a week before the vote, Rayvin and paddocklad could see both sides of the argument. I certainly didn’t vote for Brexit thinking it would mean no trade deals or continued with free movement.
-
You realise that all that chart does (as I have told you before), is show that when the need arises, a model is created.

Money talks

I know you lads struggle with this but it’s a NEGOTIATION!!!! Both sides have said various outcomes are not acceptable but both sides will eventually agree, probably as usual at the last minute. Its likely the WA will be done shortly and then we’ll have a 2 or 3 year transition to the future relationship. But to be honest, the make up of Parliament means all sorts of scenarios from no deal to remaining could still come to pass.
