No thanks
-
Ofcourse it can be squared, chequers sorts it out.
-
Well I explained it to you last year and again today and no doubt again when it’s going through.

I love the way that sometimes I get asked questions as though I am in Brussels doing the negogiations. I am but a jolly taxi driver with an interest in politics Political debate is good, but you should make allowances for the above. I do for all of you Anyway, a year ago I suggested to you that this would be resolved by a bespoke Customs Union in the way Turkey has a bespoke Customs Union. You all laughed Here we are a year later discussing a bespoke Customs Union. Obviously none of us are privy to the discussions that are taking place about the future trading relationship. But given the current talk of the bespoke Customs Union, the insistence of May that we want to do free trade deals and the information we know about the U.K. suggesting we can collect tarrifs on behalf of the EU, you can sort of see where this could end up. The biggest difficulty with this negotiation is not the details, as daft as that sounds, but the government’s majority.

Jesus

I actually did. I was bribed
-
As usual, you only showed the bits that suited you. Caught out again Typical remainer carry on.
-
But the remain side lies have come to pass, claims by the leave side have not as we are still in negogiations. The only deal currently being discussed by the U.K. / EU includes everything I wanted from Brexit.
-
You should know as you were heavily involved in the discussion at the time Lets face it, as much as Renton likes to paint a picture of it being cut and dry a month before, it wasn’t. The debate was still ongoing. 3 posts after the one I posted about staying in, Paddock Lad posted this. 3 weeks after that even you were quite clear about how difficult a choice it was for many people. Should you wish to revisit this period you will see I posted often following the big debates about how I was being swayed. And when I finally chose out, we discussed it here. Hope this helps your memory

Bollocks, but if something has finally cheered you up after 2 years of wailing then good.
-
I think you are confused.

This old chestnut. How many voted remain dreading a promised punishment budget or instant recession just for voting leave. There was no manifestos. I highlighted at the time my reasons for voting leave and the issues that were important to me. All of those are still being negotiated and none have been ruled out. However the lies from remain about a punishment budget and instant recession have indeed been proved as lies.

Shame. It made me chuckle this morning

Quite a good one this I have a Samsung TV about 3 or 4 years old and wondered if the bairns Bluetooth speakers would work on it. After going into the settings I discovered their was no setting for headphones or Bluetooth. I then discovered via YouTube you could enter an engineers code on your remote, open up an secret engineers menu and activate Bluetooth. I then went back to normal settings and as if by magic I now had a headphones setting and Bluetooth. Secret codes for different brands of TV. https://www.askvg.com/secret-service-codes-for-sony-and-lg-tv/

Terrible news for the EU, Great news for U.K. Tourism and caravan parks. Forget Benidorm for your hen and stag do’s, come to Newcastle.
-
Because our version would still allow us to do trade deals.
-
No, we haven’t.
-
I told you about a Turkey styled custom union a year ago. And yesterday when you asked I explained about the U.K. wide backstop and that what was agreed in December was being re-written. Today you said it wasn’t.
-
Stick with me and I’ll keep you right.
-
Oh, this as well
-
Basically what I told you yesterday, along with the re-drafting of the December agreement and oh look, even technology and pre border checks
-
See, the way you write comes across as though we are going to inspect every lorry carrying food. That’s simply not the case. The vast majority of goods will never be checked even if we left with no deal.
-
I think it’s fair to say that Decembers various paragraphs on the backstop are defunct which is why we are where we are, looking for new scenarios that will replace them. As for the 3, 5 or 10 years, May was pretty adamant today that chequers had not been discarded by Brussels and that the future trade deal would solve this. Im not going to get into a back and forth with you on this because I know your position, but I honestly think that the border situation is being made out to be a far bigger deal than it is. Something like 2% of stuff arriving from third countries to us is checked and the delay is about 2 minutes. I’m fairly sure technology, trusted traders etc could be used to minimise a lot of the checks.

I suppose that depends on your interpretation of meaningful.
