My point was quite simple I am just surprised that a centrist left movement isn't building. After the mass resignations against Corbyn I could understand them keeping their heads down and hoping it would swing back, but now with momentum controlling everything there is little chance of that happening.
-
Overall its the duplicity with which virtually a cure is promised for every ill when we all know (when we are not being partisan) that Labour really couldn't afford everything they've promised. I think there's a lot of stuff they want to privatise that wouldn't make things better. I also am not convinced that borrowing 250 billion is a sensible move or that McDonnel is the financial genius to oversee it. I would like to see a serious solution for social care and privatization of the buses. I think we just need to be honest that we have to raise taxes to do it.

dear me. Its called putting their principles first. Maybe read up on the politics of 81 when the SDP was formed (last time Labour went way left). sometimes it’s about the longer game and not just the next 5 year cycle.
-
Well I know you wouldn’t choose it but there are many Labour MP’s who are naturally closer to conservative policy than Corbyn / Mcdonell. I suppose its all the grass root root machinery that really scuppers it.
-
I think there’s a lot of people caught between the two. I like some leftish policies but I wouldn’t want the whole fruit basket (IMO) that comes with them. As always with most politicians I presume the centrists are too worried about their jobs to go it alone. It’s got to come soon though.

Because there’s loads of objectivity in here with regard to any conservative views of life.

Have the centre left now given up completely. I would have thought by now a new party would be a serious starter.

But he’s putting a 25% tarrif on imported steel and we put a 74% tarrif on imported steel. So why is everyone losing their shit with him and not us/eu? Genuine question btw. For once I’m clueless.

I really have little interest in Trump or American politics (other than West Wing / HOC), but isn’t he simply sticking tarrifs on imported steel to counter the Chinese dumping.

Gordon fava beans and a nice chianti Brown was just as bad.

Nothing to see here. EU hasn’t frozen talks. Independent getting a bit carried away with Tusks comments yesterday. Tusk actuallys says substantive progress stating the obvious that guess what..... Nothings agreed til Everything’s agreed.

3 MP’s about to get outed for harassment.
-
Massive story about to break on Newsnight according to twitter. Could be a damp squib
-
Because of an amendment possibly calling for a custom union. Not sure how an amendment could be added saying we stay in the EU. I’m not saying it’s impossible, I just can’t see how it could be achieved given the way amendments / legislation works.
-
How can they veto if there’s no vote?
-
Again, your defeatist attitude shows through. It’s a negotiation but as usual you are accepting that the EU’s starting position is the end game. Pointless discussion.
-
Very sorry for their Loss. RIP
-
Neither thanks

I dont totally disagree with you, I’m just not sure what the mechanics are of getting to a very soft Brexit. If we walk away, there’s no deal to vote on and the hard brexiteers MP’s win.
-
I told you at the time it was a fudge. If EU don’t agree to 1 or 2 it’s No Dealio, No divorce money, No herring.
-
It was fudged. There were 3 options. 1. Mays custom agreement plan 2. Technology 3. Full alignment etc or border down the Irish Sea. No way UK will agree legally to 3.
-
I think that’s because your the biggest adult drama queen I’ve ever encountered. Real life Chicken Licken.
-
False alarm or lost in translation. Irish legal stuff still in October’s withdrawal agreeement.
-
Looks like someone’s heard you and Ewerk are on the ropes and has come out fighting. No deal just moved a lot closer in the last 30 minutes.

No you won’t be interested in my critique Parliaments had a say (twice) and both Labour and Conservative MP’s voted to let the people decide. They did. They voted to leave, even in the knowledge that (according to the governments own figures), an immediate punishment budget and recession would follow. The people thought, bollocks, it will be fine and it was. You’ll basically make yourself ill if you spend all your time worrying about what % growth will be in 10 or 15 years. Much wiser to worry about the impact of AI or JM
