I was waiting for you to come rushing in with this last night. How did their last stab a forecasting go? Immediate recession just from voting leave, 500,000 job losses etc. More scaremongering. However putting that to one side, Brexit should be about more than GDP. In the real world most of us live our daily lives no differently whether GDP is 1.8% or 2.2% etc. Its certainly not a tool for measuring how well society is doing. I suggest you read read the very good book by David Pillington on this subject. (Not that I’ve read it but he talked a lot of sense on Radio 4 this morning).

They couldn’t be more vague and dateless

Cheers all, i’ll Give all the suggestions ago.

More fudged weasel words. Come back to me when you have the legal document
-
Sorry, not porn I have a load of old homemade movies that I transferred from VHS to disc years ago. I would now like to transfer them to the laptop / PC so that I can edit them and make new discs. Anyone any experience of good software for doing this. Obviously I don’t want to pay lots of money for a one off job. I tried putting one in the disc tray but Windows 10 apparently doesn’t come with DVD software so I downloaded VLC player to view them.

Shes never off the TV lately, but no, it’s not about attention. Also isn’t it JC’s job to hold the government to account. Just Urghh!

None taken, I was just wooshed and trying to see where I suggested it

Cheers. As it happens I found a copy of Windows 7 that someone on here sent me years ago, booted it up and installed Windows 10. Seems to run fine. Happy ending
-
I’ve found an old laptop in the lift (everyone uses i stuff or the desktop pc) it’s a Dell inspirion N5040 with vista windows 7 on. This isn’t supported anymore so I was thinking of updating it for the bairn to do schoolwork etc. First of all last time it was in use my (more useless than me) brother in law tried to do a systems restore and now when it boots we just get this screen. Secondly, if I just buy a copy of Windows 10 and popped it in, would it fix this? cheers.

But you do understand that the “fudge” wording that got us to Phase 2 is not automatically going to be the wording that ends up in the legal document?
-
What don’t you understand? Fudge words were used to get everyone to Phase 2. Within days they were been watered down again to gradual divergence etc. I honestly have no idea what we’ll end up with as it really depends on who wins the argument within the Tory party. Brexiteers have backed May upto a point however lately Brexit seems to be softening which is causing the current unrest. Literally anything could now happen which will determine the firmness of our Brexit. If JRM’s side take over then we’ll be hard brexiting next March.
-
Do you have a specific question? Most people agree the phase 1 agreement is a fudge of words to get us to Phase 2.

Another one!!!!!!

Suits Put off watching this for years but what a cracking show. Really excellent cast and dialogue not a kick in the teeth off West Wing quality. Louis Litt, what an absolute hero.

I think we are fast approaching a tipping point and she’ll be gone.
-
I think you have to look at my comments as you would comments about Newcastle players. We don’t have Shearer or Ginola etc so we talk up the likes of Mitro, Joselu etc. No parties currently have any great leaders that I can see but hopefully some will emerge from either party.
-
Rees Mogg is apparently making a big speech tonight which basically says the Government should stick to its manisfesto, Lancaster house, Florence views on Brexit rather than the watered down Brexit that seems to be gathering pace under the likes of Hammond. Obviously, I agree with JRM and would rather Brexit was cancelled than end up with basically a poorer version of what we already have. Bottom Line is that May is like a rabbit in the headlights and is trying to ride two horses with one arse. I think it’s time for a new broom or they might as well move over for Jeremy. BTW, May talking about her own smear test during PMQ’s didn’t half spoil my lunch

Think I have finally found my best ever slimming recipe site www.twochubbycubs.com (Thought it was two women but thats cougars). Anyway, some great recipes and I like their style, EG to make doner kebab you should: preheat the oven to 180degrees. Chuck absolutely everything into a big old bowl and mash mash mash with your fists. Imagine you’re punching the face of someone you hate, or you’re trying to birth a cow against the clock. You want that mixture smooth, not lumpy because you couldn’t be arsed. No excuses. Think of the body magic. If you sweat and it drops in, just reduce the amount of salt you add. When you’ve got it so smooth and well-mixed that you want to take a picture and show it to the neighbours, stick it in a parchment-lined loaf tin and cook in the oven for around 90 minutes. After 45 minutes, turn it over and skim off any shite that has oozed out. Once cooked, take it out, let it cool, slice it thin. Now, stuff it into your pitta with as much salad as you want. Because I’m not very exciting, I just went for spinach and tomato and onion with a raita made from fat free yoghurt, mint and a bit of garlic. Whoo, right? You could have an extra pitta for five syns more and who is going to know? I’m not telling anyone, I’m still in a bad mood!

Cheers I'll get our lass to ask next week.
-
Cheers for that Alex, good advice and I’ll look for that book.
-
Aye, I was more thinking of Gloom jumping in with one of his nut pasta jobs in a weird sauce.
-
Aye I do now and again, but it’s just getting some time to experiment and get the right ones. Paradido do a fabulous Mediterranean mixed grill and the rub on the lamb is perfect (and unlike anything I’ve ever tasted elsewhere). Anyway, made sticky Asian chicken and rice tonight which turned out well. Clean plates.
-
Been there done that and have quite a few decent ones but a lot are tasteless fodder, no imagination with spices etc. I would love to find a nice ‘rub’ for lamb, something Mediterranean and some options to spice up chicken breasts. Just a bit bored with the same old same old.

Could really do with some decent new recipes chucked up. Normal nice healthy’ish stuff, not your inner London Makaresh street food malarkey. Our lass (which means all of us), is back on slimming world so all the normal food is off the menu.
