  1. Reaching a final is an achievement. And no I don't want to.
  2. If mediocre is having the best home defence in the league, reaching a cup final, being unbeaten (apart from the Webb massacre on saturday) against the top 4, vying for a european place despite having our worst start to a league season then ill take that. All day long. Getting to a cup final means approximately fuck all if you get beat. We have been runners up in the F.A cup 7 times and I don't think we got anything for it... I think that is an achievement.

  4. I'm glad we didn't get the sour faced twat. Spurs are only rated by Spurs fans tbh. Spurs are only rated as what by Spurs fans?
  5. hmm I personally dont think so, they arguably have a better team, on paper at least.
  6. From a Newcastle United point of view, not getting Harry Redknapp was a real shame. I think he would have done what he has done at Spurs. Though Newcastle's squad isn't the quality of Spurs they shouldn't be on 30 points. I'd love to see a list of the players that would jump ship if Toon go down...
  7. Spurs fan in peace here, I am really looking forward to this one. Out of curiosity if the toon go down, do you think you'll come back up again or do a Leeds?
  8. Spurs fan here, yeah I think Newcastle will win too. We always shit ourselves at SJP. It must be the geordies pissed up on dog! A draw would be nice. Our lineup: ----------------Gomes------------------ ----Corluka, Dawson, King, Ekotto--- Lennon, Jenas, Huddlestone, Bentley ---------------Modric------------------- ----------------Bent-------------------
  9. I am a Spurs fan in peace. I haven't been on this forum before, this thread was made aware to us at glory glory by one of our more annoying members that regularly stirs up trouble either amongst ourselves or other fans but anyway I do take issue with several points. On what basis have you come to the conclusion that our support do not care about football? You may not recognise the League cup as a major trophy, I hope that has nothing to do with the fact Newcastle United has never won that competition, but it is a piece of silverware, it is a way of obtaining European football albeit the UEFA cup. I would agree that it is less prestigious than the FA cup but writing it off completely is ludicrous. If Newcastle won the league cup next season, I'm sure you would feel differently. Aside from anything it would end your trophy drought. The other thing I take issue with is the all time league table. How you can make a comparision of 2 modern day football clubs based on the fact you were in the football league before us, 103 years ago, is fantastical and can hardly be used as an argument over which team is more popular/bigger/successful. The figures given out by other spurs fans regarding the waiting list for a season ticket are correct but also misleading. A fair portion of that 21,000 on the waiting list want to have a season ticket in very specific parts of the stadium. Parklane end, the shelf and Paxton. This is due to the price and atmosphere. Having sat in the west stand, paying twice what I normally pay in the south, I can see why. Objectively speaking, with a 55 - 60,000 seater stadium, we would no doubt struggle to fill it on a mid week Carling cup tie against Southend if the ticket prices are not slashed accordingly. If the team was in a poor run of form (which happens regularly, at least twice a season) then even on saturday 3pm kickoffs against Stoke or Wigan we probably wouldn't reach capacity. If the prices were reasonable and transport wasn't as much of an issue as it is now then it might be different. Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are both big clubs. In the top 10 historically biggest clubs in English Association Football history. You have to nit pick over which is bigger or better. Arguably Spurs currently are doing better but 10 years ago Newcastle were the much better side and should have won the league. Anyway good luck over the weekend, I like Kinnear a lot for obvious reasons, may the best team (spurs ) win
