I agree 150 %. I thought West Ham were one of many teams who could go down, but they've managed to climb up to 7th, despite a lot of injuries and player sales. Their secret? A decent manager. Getting Steve Clarke from Chelsea was a smart move too
  3. "The world scouting network of Steve Bruce and Wigan"...
  4. This is not a military that we recognise," said Mikhael Manekin, one of the former soldiers involved with the group. "This is in a different category to things we have seen before. We have spoken to a lot of different people who served in different places in Gaza, including officers. We are not talking about some units being more aggressive than others, but underlying policy. So much so that we are talking to soldiers who said that they were having to restrain the orders given." Manekin described how soldiers had reported their units being specifically warned by officers not to discuss what they had seen and done in Gaza. The outlines of the evidence gathered comes hard on the heels of the disclosure by the Oranim Academy's pre-military course last week of devastating witness accounts supplied by soldiers involved in the fighting, including the "unjustified" shooting of civilians. The claims appear to add credence to widespread claims of Israeli soldiers firing on civilians, made by Palestinians to journalists and international investigators and lawyers who entered Gaza at the end of the conflict and in its aftermath. With Israeli newspapers threatening new disclosures, the New York Times has weighed in with an interview with a reservist describing the rules of engagement for the Gaza operation. Amir Marmor, a 33-year-old military reservist, told the newspaper that he was stunned to discover the way civilian casualties were discussed in training talks before his tank unit entered Gaza in January. "Shoot and don't worry about the consequences" was the message from commanders, said Marmor. Describing the behaviour of a lieutenant-colonel who briefed the troops, Marmor added: "His whole demeanour was extremely gung-ho. This is very, very different from my usual experience. I have been doing reserve duty for 12 years, and it was always an issue how to avoid causing civilian injuries. He said that in this operation, we are not taking any chances. Morality aside, we have to do our job. We will cry about it later. Firing on civilians is a war crime.
  5. Exactly. He's not one for the sheep, but most of his comments hit the nail on the head. He has turned into a bit of a nob lately, but suppose fame and being so god damn right all the time is bound to make you big headed. Thirded. Plus, anyway, I'm literally amazed at some of the comments on this thread from people I'd expect something different from. FFS freedom of speech is nothing to do with this so-called 'hand-wringing'. It's common sense! Jesus wept, do we want to live in a world where only 'normal' comments are allowed or are we actually allowed to make our own minds up? Also George Galloway has been elected a member of Parliament and Canada are part of the so-called 'Common wealth'. It's an utter joke the guy isn't being allowed to speak in a supposedly 'free' country called Canada, especially when the USA has no problems with him. He's banned for National Security needs apparently . Maybe someone can tell me how old George is going to threaten the Western civilised world with his wicked pen and tongue? Thye tried to stop David Icke, but he got in, god knows how Galloway didn't. As I said earlier, the most boring, pointless country on earth and I'm inc Belgium in the mix. In the near future America should just invade it and take all the gold and oil.
  6. One of the most inept matchday management performances since the dawn of time. Just two of many fuck ups: Letting Martins take a pen and not subbing Taylor immediately or getting instruction out for a mf to drop back and hold (I watched in horror as Nolan casually tracked back).

Tbh if KK hadn't quit we'd be above you. If KK had been allowed to run things and got the backing he'd been promised we might well be above Everton. Maybe even Arsenal.

He's done it in less than 12 months too.. Mission accomplished IMO, there's no way this is just bad luck - i'm convinced there's an ulterior motive. I agree. I mean it, in all honesty, this isn't incompetence or even wilfull neglect, it has to be deliberate. Was it Sherlock Holmes who said words to the effect that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth? Well, this is all I'm left with after this joke of a season. Who knows what the future holds for us. If say for example he was trying to wind up the club, can't see what he could gain from that, the land is owned by the council.

Same with me. Thankfully our next game is a fortnight away. I've gone and compounded my depression by playing kamikaze poker and going all in on a pair. Just couldn't be arsed to play solid.
  10. Butt has been a disgrace for quite some time now.
  11. Taylor has saved 2 certain goals and one great block by Harper. Why let the most inconsistant striker of a ball take the penalty?? Nolan used to take the pens for Bolton didn't he? So far I'm happy with the commitment and the chances created. Duff has acually re-discovered running forward with the ball. Lov seems to be darting about all over the place and a little unlucky not to score. Need to keep it together for the first 10 when we come out.
  12. Categorically the worst performance by Everton this season.
  13. Why the fuck are Everton sitting off them like this? Pompey are short of confidence and have no pace.
  14. That was never a corner. Beanpole scores.
  15. Sounds a bit like football. No point in putting Shola in a Ferrari.
  16. That's the worst bit, it's now illegal, but the fuckers still aren't going to comply - unless everyone of those people threatens legal action. Cunts.
  17. Loved it when I was there. I'd put money on you never having been there as well
