  1. Replace Bellamy with Dempsey seems to be their plan.
  2. "Everyone knows that Sylvain had groin injuries the year before he joined us as well, but we have nailed it down, we have rehabbed him and it seems to have gone very well," Newcastle's coach told nufc.co.uk. "He looked so much better against Monaco, even just in the 10-15 minutes he was on. "He looked as if he was moving better - he wasn't as stiff or upright and was moving much better. That was really important to see, and when I spoke to Sylvain after the match he told me he felt so much better in himself. "He's obviously a left-footer as well, and that helps the balance of our team, which will be important to us this season. "Sylvain seems like he is getting his confidence back, he played some lovely stuff and looked very comfortable on the ball against Monaco. "That's the Sylvain that we bought, so that has been a huge plus for us this tour." http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20120720/marveaux-is-all-systems-go_2281670_2854055?
  3. Butterfield off to Norwich, we were linked with him at the end of the season. Heskey looks like he's off to Ipswich.
  4. Now this is AMBITION! http://www1.skysport...e-on-Allen-deal
  5. The flymo is going back, fucking plastic blades what's all that about.
  6. Surely that easy start you kept telling us we had last season plays it's part in the stats though considering Taylor played in the first 10 games?
  7. While Chelsea dropped 7 points and Liverpool 6 compared to the previous season Man Utd were up 9 points, Man City up 18, Arsenal up 2 and Spurs up 7 so they've just flip flopped about a bit.
  8. Bringing the transfer fee into it is you just moving the goalposts again. The honest truth is I'm not sure what we can afford when it comes to transfer fee, they've done well to cloud what is in the bank and what profit they would have made last season.
  9. AVB has said if the money is right Modric can go.
  10. We've been linked with a few right backs that have yet to move. Azpilicueta, Rosales and Jung.
  11. We're not in the Championship though with Championship level income so it's a moot point.
  12. Even if West Ham do bid more it will be up to Carroll where he goes. It would be similar to the Owen transfer when everyone knew he wanted to go to Liverpool but came here instead because we offered more and he didn't have the bottle to turn us down and risk a season on the bench before the World cup, all Carroll has to do is hold firm and turn down any other offer and Liverpool will be left with either selling him to us or keeping him on on £80k per week. Even if we offered a years loan with a permanent £16 million deal at the end of it if we're happy it would be a great deal for us, if he gets his old form back we've got a good deal, if he's shit they can have him back and if he's alright we can still screw the price down knowing they're desperate to get rid.
  13. Not much chance of them getting £20 million IMO. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18896710
  14. I agree, I did say originally that he wouldn't pay it him. It's more to do with keeping a cap as you say rather than having to sell Cisse or Cabaye to give it to him.
  15. You seem to be moving the goal posts here. You said we couldn't afford to pay Carroll £80k per week without selling someone like Cabaye or Cisse to pay for it, yet we've cut an estimated £80k off the wage bill by releasing Smith and Lovenkrands so the wage bill would remain at a steady level if we just gave that money to Carroll. Could we afford a team of players on £80k? No. That was not the point you originally made though.
  16. Mail saying Liverpool have agreed a fee for Dempsey.
  17. You mean the money he put in when we were in the championship? That has no relevance to where we are now. Our wage bill is 60% of income without player sales, it's something like the 13th highest in the Premiership (less than Sunderland, Bolton, Fulham, Everton and Villa) and only 5 clubs had a better wages to turnover ratio than us. We don't need to sell anyone to cover wages.
  18. The same way as we find every other players wages, through income.
  19. Smith was apparently on £3 million a year which has been freed up so it's a case of finding another £1 million every year.
  20. Transfers fee's are a different thing altogether, the club has said enough times that we will only spend what we generate. My point was more about your comment that we would have to sell Cisse or Cabaye to fund Carroll's wages if we offer him what he's on at Liverpool, that simply isn't the case.
  21. Buying players maybe but I don't think the sale of Carroll had any impact on wages, despite what Llambias said at the time. Not that I think we would pay him the same wage he was on at Liverpool anyway, but our wage bill is very healthy at the moment.
  22. Bid gone in for Douglas http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7908895/?
  23. I think he will only come in if Tiote leaves anyway.
