I once had a downstairs neighbour who compalined every time I walked around my flat wearing shoes. She even complained as I was moving in. Then one night she called the police to complain that I was having a wild party. At 10pm! The cops came round to find me and two mates playing Duke Nukem on the playstation, ffs! That was the final straw, the next day she had melted Mars bars splashed on her windows when she was out. Apparently it's a bastard to scrape off. She was round the same day complaining I had been feeding the pigeons on my balcony Fooking big pigeons!! Then a couple of months before I moved out, apparently my bathroom was dripping down into her living room. Did I hurry to call the plumber? I didn't even bother. Just twatted the radiators for half an hour every couple of weeks and then went downstairs to tell her that it had been fixed.

So glad I found this thread. Got a major dilemma. I've been teaching on and off abroad for the last 12 years. Got a nice little side-earner as well that was recently featured in the help section. Thanks to Peaspud, the usurper was soon scared off. Anyways, I've been offered two jobs, either side of my last country, Poland, where I spent a happy 8 years living the life of riley in Warszawa. Here's the choice- a short-term contract in St. Petersburg till Christmas, or a similar contract in a small town in Jormany. I know that St. Petersburg will be the wild east, full of surprises of both the good and bad variety, and Jormany will be a safe option to spend the run up to Xmas quaffing fine pilsner in a picturesque small town of 20,000 people. St. Petersburg pays less, but there's more VFM, but only if I'm sensible. With Jormany, with a lack of distactions in a small town, I could quite easily come back to the UK at Christmas with a couple of grand saved. I speak feck all Jorman and can barely read, let alone speak Russian, so settling in would be just as mad in either place. What would you do?

Happened to me two weeks ago. The details of my HSBC Maestro were compromised, and the feckers attempted to go on a spending spree after making small 'test' transactions on National Express tickets in the Milton Keynes area. They then tried to buy and LCD TV from Argos and a sofa from DFS, totalling £1500. The bank thinks the details were taken by a dodgy member of staff at a certain computer components retailer based in Dorking which specialises in RAM. All very annoying and rather scary.

I've had this site going for the last couple of years: www.telephonenglish.com and I have just noticed that a friggin copy has just sprung up here: three 'w' shindig-jp dot com (don't want any trackbacks to this message) As you will see, it's a replica which has stolen vast amounts of text, images and even staff names! My site is hardly big business, and is probably only useful for the CV, so I cannot afford a lawyer. Any idea how I can nail the cyber-thief? Furious :x

Get the classifieds in the Sunday papers and sign up to as many of the freepost/freephone numbers as possible. He'll be getting shite for weeks. Also, go to insurance quote websites and put his renewal dates for a different month on each site ensuring a steady flow of calls. Tick all the 'I want you to give my details to everyone' boxes. Don't bother with spam sites, as they'll be blacklisted by any half-decent spam filter.
