Right here's the problem..

For those who use DC++ you know there is 2 modes,Active Mode and Passive Mode, and Passive Mode is so fucking shit it's unbelievable, well I'm behind a router and I've forwaded ports so I can use Active Mode and it worked fine..Now here's the tricky bit,my brother wants to use Active Mode also..

But I've gotta use the Internet IP Address off my router to get DC++ to get to work on Active Mode, now to put it more easier..2 computers 1 IP adress and 1 Person can work it the other can't and also when I try and search nothing comes up,I really don't want to use Passive Mode as I hate it. B)

Help?

You cannot have 2 identical IP addresses on a network.

If you turn NAT on (which I think you may have done as you are port forwarding), on the router then you can have as many internal IP addresses you want.

What IP addresses are you using? Give me numbers !

Use different ports.

Eg.

Computer A 10.0.1.2

Computer B 10.0.1.3

Forward port 6681 to 10.0.1.2

Forward port 6682 to 10.0.1.3

Then just set up the different ports in the DC++ on each computer.

Sorry to bump a old thread, but the problem was never fixed, again sorry about this.

My router doesn't seem to support NAT?

It's a Linksys BEFSR41 V3 wired.

Here's a pic of the ports being forwaded my IP is the one with .100 at the end and my brothers is .101

Also, say if my brother is inside a hub, I can't join that hub, it says I'm already in it?

Thanks!
