Charlton have released Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as they prepare for life in the Championship next season.

The former Chelsea and Leeds man has been allowed to leave The Valley as part of the cost-cutting measures in the wake of their relegation from the Premiership.

Hasselbaink is one of the club's top earners and they have decided to let him move on in a bid to save funds.

The former Holland international has struggled to hold down a regular place in the side under Alan Pardew and Hasselbaink is now set to move on for pastures new.

The 35-year-old made a farewell appearance for The Addicks as a substitute in Sunday's draw at Liverpool.

All though I can see us getting Bent in.
