I think we can win. Their squad is not that big so them playing mid week should do us a favour, however it depends if Big Sam is going to play for a draw or play for us to win. I would play Viduka up top with Martins and zoggy/milner either side and see what we can do!

We've got a decent chance for Saturday I think.

As far as 'we need to improve' goes at least, plus Blackburn got well and truly fucking bummed by Villa last night.

'mon the Toon

Allardyce has no option but go for the win imo... so we'll scrape a lucky 2-2 draw. ;)

Milner, Faye and Barton in.

Emre, Enrique and Viduka out.

:birthday:

I guess that's Smith being played up front at least.

Hopefully he'll get Zoggy and Milner on the correct wings.

1423: Team news Blackburn v Newcastle

Blackburn's Andre Ooijer comes in for the suspended centre-back Ryan Nelsen with Brett Emerton dropping to right-back. Newcastle's Abdoulaye Faye has recovered from a hamstring injury to take his place in the centre of defence while Alan Smith leads the attack in a 4-3-3 formation with no room for fellow striker Mark Viduka in the starting XI.

So, He is being positive :S

Maybe Smith might suprise us?

Playing someone upfront who has scored 7 goals in 73 games is being positive?

I'd rather have Shola up-front tbh

Beye Faye Rozenhal N' Zogbia

Geremi Butt Barton

Martins Milner

Can't see that middle 3 being owt but a first line of defence...if that.

Guys, he's never going to be positive. Read his line from that bit recently about having to stop other teams playing first, only THEN trying to find cracks in them to break down. This is how he wants us to play, home or away. The back 7 will be defending then relying on smith to hold up the ball and Martins / Milner to be attacking.

Best we all get used to it.

I stand by my prediction of 1-1. We'll scrape it but it won't save Sam's job.

Milner will score. Smith and Martins will be nonexistent.

Don't understand why he just wont use two wingers, take Geremi/Barton off, move Zoggy up and put Enrique on.

Too simple. He has to use some kind of special formation that no mere fan could think up, otherwise what in hell are we paying him for?

I will say our fans have been in fine voice so far in this game.
