Brought up in another thread, what is the current league table of nerds, geeks and dweebs? Also how the hell do you define each subspecies?

 

 

Geek is a blanket term for someone who enjoys the more esoteric things in life (alternative music, books, films), who shies away from brutish behaviour and who is often quite pragmatic. Intelligent on the whole, capable of wit and charm.

Nerds are your D&D fans, the guys who play warhammer, real social inadequates. Clever but inept outside of their sphere of comfort. Vicious towards eachother and effervesce at perceived mistakes by their counterparts. They like sci-fi and fantasy with genuine gusto (probably because it affords them an escapism from the world where they're a bit of a victim.

Dorks haven't the social savvy of the geek, nor the intelligence of the Nerd, they're dopey but kind hearted, much less vindictive than the nerd.
