I went to the Toon from Blaydon

Twas sometime in June

Two thousand and Eight the year

On a summer's afternoon

I read the papers on the way

So see who we'd signed

Nobody quite yet it seems

No wonder I'm loosing my mind

Oh me lads, dark days are here again

Never more to hear the roar

St James' snow or rain

All the lads and lasses there

long time since over the moon

Now the clubs had it soul ripped out

This is Mike Ashleys Toon

So then along came Ju-ly

And finally new players in

One lad called Jonas

To fly up and down the wing

Also then was Guthrie

and also young Bassong

Lets hope they give us some hope

something to cheers us on

Oh me lads, dark days are here again

Never more to hear the roar

St James' snow or rain

All the lads and lasses there

long time since over the moon

Now the clubs had it soul ripped out

This is Mike Ashleys Toon

Now when it came to August

The season around again

We'd signed Coloccini

to cause some forwards pain

And then the season started

King Keegan at the helm

First came a draw at Man U

The team not overwhelmed

Oh me lads, dark days are here again

Never more to hear the roar

St James' snow or rain

All the lads and lasses there

long time since over the moon

Now the clubs had it soul ripped out

This is Mike Ashleys Toon

But then the transfers ended

But what about the rest?

Keegan being overuled

The club seemed in a mess

The owner sitting laughing

Counting his coins with glee

A thread bare squad and moral going down

He's made a fool of me

Oh me lads, dark days are here again

Never more to hear the roar

St James' snow or rain

All the lads and lasses there

long time since over the moon

Now the clubs had it soul ripped out

This is Mike Ashleys Toon

Then that sad day did come

the 4th September confirmed

Our worst fear about King Kev

He broke our hearts and turned

They stabbed his back and ours that day

Our souls were ripped in two

But the Bastards will never keep us down

Starting with me and you

Oh me lads, dark days are here again

Never more to hear the roar

St James' snow or rain

All the lads and lasses there

long time since over the moon

Now the clubs had it soul ripped out

This is Mike Ashleys Toon

We've now had King Kev again

and We've had Sir Bob its true

Both lost forever it seems

Two men toon through and through

So where we go from here

Who can ever tell

But it seems one things for certain

Its a slippery road to hell

Oh me lads, dark days are here again

Never more to hear the roar

St James' snow or rain

All the lads and lasses there

long time since over the moon

Now the clubs had it soul ripped out

I went up to St James' Park

Twas the 13th of September

With Keegan gone the Geordie throng

gave Ashley something to remember

Our blood still bleeds Black and White

but Ashley's wounded our pride

Sell the club and bring Keegan back

to reign again on Tyneside

Oh me lads, you should've seen us gannin

Marching along to Barrack Road

For this we won't be stan'in

All the lads and lasses there

None with smilin faces

Ashley and Wise get out of Toon

You're nowt but fucking disgraces

Great post, 30/20 years ago, he'd have been removed by force. The sooner we get that cunt out of Newcastle, the sooner we can move forward and progress as a club again .
