Supergrass

I have seen them once before.

They are a top class live act but I prefer their older material, which they still play plenty of.

The advantage of being older than you Tom is I've also seen them a few times over the period of their career.

But the rumour on the supergrass message board is they are refusing to play Alright!

Which is no big deal in my opinion.

The only thing that I'm upset about it Black Francis is also playing tonight and tonight only whereas Supergrass are playing tonight and tomorrow night!!!

But how are you to know that when you buy tickets three month in advance?

I went to see Supergrass in 2005, so by then I suppose their creative peak was long gone.

Still good though.

I wasn't fussed about Alright either, 'Moving' was the best for me.

Enjoy I like Supergrass

I, on the other hand am off to see my brothers band in Leeds :)

Awesome and outstanding is the only way to describe most of the gig.

Eighty percent of the gig was the last two albums, and as a fan of road to rouen who can appreciate the highlights of Diamond hoo ha, that's not a bad thing.

They did Mary, complete with e-bow, which was great but they did this shite abridged version of caught by the fuzz which was disappointing because they started it, had a break, started the next verse and then didn't finish it.

But with the pluses, they sounded tight and together, they mixed it up for a selection of tracks and Gazza has this bizare mo that makes him look 19 and trying hard.

We might go again tomorrow night if it isn't too hard, sleeze ball is on next door so you never know what you'll tread in!

Listening to Shotover Hill at the moment. Supergrass is a great album.

To my shame i've never seen them live.

Anyone heard any Hot Rats? It's Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey and producer Nigel Godrich doing covers. The album's out in January.

Track list...

"I Can't Stand It" (The Velvet Underground)

"Big Sky" (The Kinks)

"The Crystal Ship" (The Doors)

"(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)" (Beastie Boys)

"Damaged Goods" (Gang Of Four)

"Love Is The Drug" (Roxy Music)

"Bike" (Pink Floyd)

"Pump It Up" (Elvis Costello And The Attractions)

"The Lovecats" (The Cure)

"Queen Bitch" (David Bowie)

"E.M.I." (Sex Pistols)

"Up The Junction" (Squeeze)
