Also been watching the reruns on iPlayer of Michael Palin’s Around the World in 80 Days. Some of the stuff he did was mad but the trip in a dhow from Dubai to Bombay (as it was then) through the straits of Hormuz was crackers. It was a proper rickety old ship with no radar, satnav or anything like that using a sextant for navigation.
