I'd stay around Santa Monica or Venice. Plenty of cool bars, resturants, shops etc - hang out on 3rd street promenade, venice beach and Main street. Avoid the tourist tat on Hollywood blvd. Go for a drive up Mullholland. A walk around Griffith park for a good view of the Hollywood sign. A drive up the PCH is a must but you need more than three days for that.

We're just booking our honeymoon to America later in the year. Doing New York, Las Vegas and then travelling up California -all over 3 weeks. We are undecided whether to stick Chicago in for a couple of days, has anyone been and is it worth bothering with?

Chicago's nice like, plenty to look at like the aquarium. Depends how much time you've got spare but I enjoyed the weekend I spent there, if you go make sure you try a Chicago style pizza.

By the way when Galaxy are away Chivas USA are usually at home, they stadium share if you're not just going to see Becks/Landon. Also the Dodgers will probably be playing when you're there if you're into that. Venice Beach is supposed to be cool too.

Or go see San Diego Flash, coached by none other than Warren Barton and have a Geordie involved in the setup @iwantcurlyhair2 from twitter
