Their tifo on Sunday is allegedly a black cat eating a magpie. Could backfire spectacularly!

Tbf to the lunatic I read this thinking there was no fucking way neither player had avoided a PL red card for us, and even remember them getting them - turns out he's right, and neither have been sent off in the prem for us. Joelinton has zero red cards in a toon shirt

Howe is obviously better at subbing booked players off than I recall.

It’s why everyone else hates Joelinton. He nearly snapped Harvey Elliott’s neck in the final

tbh I think the players themselves have the restraint. Wasn't Bruno existing for several games last season under the threat of a ban and avoided picking up a yellow card.

Both have the gameplan of identifying the most volatile opponent and nibble away hoping for them to snap - Bruno was definitely on that crusade against Enzo Fernandez in the Chelsea game.

Imagine if the mackems still had Cattermole

Tom

Cattermole would commit a red card offence in the first 30 seconds of a derby knowing he wouldn’t be sent off .

Wouldn’t get away with that now

I still have a disbelief of the cunt who counted out five or six fouls previously committed by this cunt, at least a couple of which were at least yellows before giving him his first yellow after he'd already sent Colccinni off and given them a penalty the one time they'd actually kept the ball for more than two seconds in the first half.

Craig

Aye ... but Joelinton would spend the next 89 mins 30 seconds trying to draw out that foul that'd end up costing him a red.

My mate bought a programme at RP in the late 80s and I had a glance before the game, one of their regular features must've been interviewing a fan. One of the standing questions was 'How do you celebrate a win against the Mags?"*  Which I thought was odd considering games against them were pretty sporadic for about twenty years previous and we'd had the upper hand which KK, (peace be upon him), was only going to further enhance.

*His answer? He said he'd go into Newcastle the following week and buy a video of it as it would be sold out in Sunderland but I don't think NUFC would be releasing a VHS of a derby defeat so I think he'd have been a bit disappointed at a waste of a journey tbh. (They didn't ever beat us that day nor ever again at RP).

they went for the new stadium bounce approach in 1997 and had to wait 11 years to beat us at that shit tip as well.
