He got 18,090 votes (up 4.6 percentage points on his share of the vote in 2015), beating the Conservative Les Jones, who got 18,068 votes (up 15.6 percentage points on the Tory 2015 result). The Ukip vote was down 18.4 percentage points. Ukip got 9,113 votes in 2015, but just 2,144 yesterday.
