  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13139857.stm Would love to know the facts about this? The fact he took a lot of money for little return? The fact he couldnt be bothered or the fact he cared amount England than the club paying his wages!

  3. Newcastle United have completed their third summer signing with the arrival of winger Matt Ritchie from AFC Bournemouth. The 26-year-old Scotland international has agreed a five-year deal at St. James' Park, and follows goalkeeper Matz Sels and striker Dwight Gayle to Tyneside. Ritchie spent three-and-a-half years at Bournemouth, making 142 appearances, scoring 31 goals and recording 29 assists. He helped the Cherries lift the League One and Championship titles, as well as playing a key role in establishing Bournemouth in the Premier League last season. Previously, Ritchie star
  4. Linked with Yaya Toure, fuck that. Massive wages, he's well past his best and goes missing for long spells. It would be a poor investment for us.
  5. According to Keith Downie from Sky Sports it's now a loan deal
  6. A 12 million quid deal (17 mil euro) apparently. Also rumours of Cabella going the other way on loan with option to buy. Seems a bit odd to loan/sell Cabella after one season where he has been played out of position on the wing seeing that he's a no. 10. And this Thauvin, never really heard of him. Dunno what he's like. I dinnar if anyone here is a polyglot so what he said^ was: 'Florian Thauvin is going to sign for Newcastle. The Cabella loan move to Marseille is not yet official.'
  7. Lee Ryder wrote on the Chronicle site about Ben Arfa been at the Gateshead game on Saturday, and that he had said that he wanted to take in the atmosphere and see a local game. I received a mms on my phone yesterday evening, to open it and find a picture of a very lush Mercedes ride with plate beginning in, "BA...". This was sent from my brother and it turns out Hatem came into the bar that they were in yesterday and that my brother's friend was chatting with him for ages in there. He told us that he's such a nice guy, genuine, and seems keen to talk to fans and locals, rather than hiding awa
  8. Have to admit I didnt know anything about him. He seemed to decent talent, pacey with good dribble. crossing was meh. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2623173/Rolando-Aarons-hailed-Newcastles-high-hope-Peter-Beardsley.html anyone seen much of him? just another squad filler?
  9. Newcastle United have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international defender Ciaran Clark. The versatile 26-year-old joins from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee and has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at St. James' Park. Clark came up through the ranks at Villa Park before making his debut in August 2009, while still a teenager. It wasn't long before he became a regular in the Villa side and over the following six seasons made a further 158 appearances, scoring ten goals. The centre-back has also won 19 caps for the Republic of Ireland, representing his nation at Euro 2
  10. I've been thinking this week about strikers at the club and will we ever see someone as good as Shearer again? I doubt it. What prompted the thoughts was me watching the derby against Sunderland where he scored his final goal. I remember the scenes in the away end that day, different class. He scored some pearlers for us in his time here, without doubt my favourite ever player at the club (Beardsley in a close second). What's your favourite goal? This one for me, purely for the memories of the whole stand absolutely bouncing when it went in. It was a tight game and the mixture of relief and ju
  11. Hi guys, Just thought I'd give you a heads up on a programme going out on ITV4 next Tuesday at 9pm (January 31st) about one of our former players. Like him or loathe him, Craig Bellamy's fiery nature on the football pitch usually divides opinion amongst football fans and players alike. Less known about Craig is his outstanding charity work out in Sierra Leone and his commitment to the children of a country still recovering from a brutal civil war. If you're interested in the work he's doing for deprived children in Africa and want to know a little bit more about the real Bellers then check
  12. Thought this was worthy of a thread as it looks like both are signing and going to be loaned back. Know nothing of Darlow but I've read things about Lascelles in the past and he seems to be rated as a decent prospect. Forest fans don't seem to be happy about it. http://www.forest.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=28594&posts=12
  13. Signing tomorrow according to various sources. Know nothing about him but looks strong and determined. 7.5m euro CD/RB "The centre back, who attracted interest from the likes of Atletico Madrid earlier in the summer, is expected to join his team mate Aleksandar Mitrović in swapping Belgium for Benton, as the striker was snapped arriving on Tyneside ahead of a £12.3 million move on Sunday. The terms of 20-year-old Mbemba’s deal are up in the air. Prices ranging between £6 million-£10 million have been rumoured in the press, which would take United’s spending well past the £30 m
  14. We all know we needed a new centre half in the summer. Last year Perch done canny at times when called for and most were nervous about Williamson. The latter has continued his shaky form this year and it more unusual than not to not have both Steve Taylor and Colo fit at the same time. Taylor now looks to be out until next year. Surely we have to bring someone in to compete with Taylor and Colo for a start? I have a horrible feeling they will look at Taylor coming back and think we will be ok and that we have just been unlucky with injuries. Another gamble but this one didnt come off. W
  15. what length of contract is he on ? The club have rejected his terms of a new one ? [i've been away for a few days again so I don't know if this has been in the press or not] Good news or bad, considering who may replace him if he goes. Desperate times.
  16. Paul Joyce, Northern Football Correspondent June 5 2017 "Newcastle United have won the race to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham as Rafa Benítez looks to bolster his attack for the assault on the Premier League." "The 19-year-old forward enjoyed an exceptional season on loan at Bristol City last season, scoring 26 goals in 48 matches, and will now make a step up in standard." "The deal represents a coup for Newcastle and Benítez, who has good relations with Chelsea from his spell as interim manager at Stamford Bridge when he won the Europa League in 2013. " "Brighton & Hove
