Sports Direct staff members hope for 44,000 each

Amazing to think that Keegan got about 40 times 44,000 as compensation for the club signing a couple of players without asking him. Lucky old Keegan. -

Just when people had almost given up asking football clubs to be part of the community, and put something back, Mike Ashley of The Toon, goes and does this! I'm very proud to support the Toon! Read Dickens. His employers are often the opposite of Mike Ashley. -

By the way, Geeforce, people who work on shop floors are very hard working people, and I'm very happy for them. -

A bonus of 1 year salary is absolutely brilliant. I'd love it. Gaffertype, you said that you didn't care if he sacked the whole of sports direct. If everyone only posted threads that they were 100% sure that every other posted cared about, then this would be a very empty forum. -

The price, I think you mean. And I don't care about the price, since I'm not going to buy it anyway. I care about being happy. By the way, did you enjoy seeing what the definition of 'many' was??? LOL I was correct you are a moron. Many will get a 500 quid voucher to spend at his marked up tat shop, few will get any real money, so yeah I enjoyed seeing the definition of many. If you need proof, Wordplay works at Sports Direct, get a quote from him about how much his "windfall" was. If he's on here, what's to stop you getting him to quote it. If he's reading this, wordplay, can you please give us a quote??? -

I've edited the IP now that you have brought this to my attention. I bet Sammy was thrilled to see Ashley's definition of many -

slapping sides with laughter!!! Nick, does your fat belly jiggle when you laugh? Yes, like a bowl full of jelly To everyone, all I'm saying is doesn't it make you think? There are people who call Ashley a tight-arse because he thinks 44,000 a week is enough. And I don't care that other clubs pay twice of thrice that amount!!! We should show that we are better than them!!! Is it clever to buy tropihies??? Not bloody likely!!! -

It makes you think doesn't it. WOuldn't we all love a windfall of 44,000. And yet there are players who don't think it's a big enough weekly salary. Well good luck to them, but I fully applaud Ashley to put the money where it generates the most happiness. -

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbys...fits-surge.html If Sports Direct hits its profits target this week, then many members will receive shares worth 44,000 each, as a reward for the company doing so well. Mike Ashley clearly thinks that helping hard-working shop workers with their housing is more important than helping mega-rich football stars double their 5-figure salaries. What do people think of this kind of prioritising? The dramatic recovery of Sports Direct's fortunes will see thousands of staff handed bonuses worth an average of £44,000 each if the discount sportswear chain hits its profits targets this week

You're very welcome. Thank you for reading it. (it was a bit long). I think he should be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize.

I've got a cousin called Walter Meter. Does that count?

Dr. Taj Hargey is an Imam, and the chairman of the Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford. I think he's great! What do you think? He has a PhD in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies from Oxford University. Dr. Taj Hargey, PhD in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/ar...atics-out.html He has categorically stated that the burqa has nothing to do with Islam. He supports France's ban on that garment (it's not a headscarf, for those in doubt, it's the thing where you can only see the eyes). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/ar...d-Britain.html He supports Spurs (I'll try not to hold that against him ), he goes to the pub to drink orange juice. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/ar...atics-out.html He says women should be allowed to lead Muslim prayers. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/com...cle4922305.ece This is from 2008: British Muslim history will be made in an Oxford hall next Friday. For the first time in Britain, a woman Muslim scholar will publicly lead men and women in prayers, and deliver the khutba, or sermon. Taj Hargey, the chairman of the group sponsoring the event at the Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford (Meco), fully expects controversy. “This is going to be a major step forward in women’s rights,” he said in an interview at Wolfson College, Oxford, of which he is a member. “But it will provoke discontent from conservatives — from the Wahhabis and their fellow travellers. The literalists interpret certain Hadith, sayings of the Prophet, as meaning that women can’t lead a community. But for us, the golden rule of Islam is that whatever is not specifically prohibited is permitted.” http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/com...cle4922305.ece He is critical of Saudi Arabia — “primitive barbarians” — and has called for an internationalisation of the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, “which should not be part of a tribal outfit, or a family business, as they are under the Saudis”. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/f...icle4922305.ece I've heard him on BBC Radio 4, that if a British person converts to Islam, he doesn't have to change his name, he can be a perfectly good Muslim and still be called John Smith. Mosque sermons need to be delivered in English, he said, not Urdu or Bengali. “In Oxford, six days a week, Muslims wear jeans or suits,” he says. “And then when they come to mosque, they suddenly put on a shalwar kameez. Do they think God only speaks to them in Pakistani dress? God doesn’t want you in that bloody dress; all he wants is a clean dress.” http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/com...cle4922305.ece He holds up equality of gay people as something to be maintained! Precisely because Wahhabism originated in the brutal backyard of Saudi Arabia, it should have no place in modern democratic Britain. Our culture has gone to considerable lengths to promote equality for women, gay people, ethnic minorities and diverse faiths. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/ar...#ixzz1RsXcfKS5 And here we have him in action. At 5.55 he says that the burqa is NOTHING to do with Islam. But never mind that, I'm just so glad that someone is finally dispelling the MYTHS about Islam, and that Muslims are just as capable of adapting, and embracing gay equality, as any other religious group. He is also standing up against the Arabs who think they own Islam.

Allardyce statement annoys me greatly.

No, it's just that for some bizarre reason, if you post ANY football topic in the general chat room, people tell you to post it here! Its mental isnt it? Football chat in football forum, other stuff in General. Its Political correctness gone mad. One small thing - this is a Newcastle United forum, rather than a football forum (and that wasn't meant to sound disrespectful of the football served up by Newcastle United -

This is part of what he says in the link in the IP. "I was a 200 metres runner, a 4x400m relay runner and a triple jumper. "I was a batsman in cricket, a freestyler in swimming and swam for the town. I did the pommel horse in gymnastics and I was really good on the trampoline, as well as being a footballer." As usual, he boasts a lot. Thank goodness he's a division below us now, instead of being at Real Madrid, where he of course should be. -

No. He's a compulsive talker of shite, who first buys a villa in Spain with the millions he got from Ashley in his pay-off, and then turns into a bleeding heart socialist. Where's the nearest bucket? -

I'm no fan of Margaret Thatcher at all!!! I'm a left-leaning labour man. But Sam Allardyce is blaming Margaret Thatcher for spoiling English football, by stopping the payments to teachers to coach young players, after school. http://fourfourtwo.com/news/england/82350/default.aspx Utterly ridiculous! Why doesn't Allardyce demand that club owners stop paying their players and managers so much money, and give the difference to teachers to train, after school. Allardyce should think about this in his luxury villa in Spain. As a left-leaning Labour man, this kind of hypocritical armchair socialist talk makes me want to vomit.
