Alan Pardew defends Newcastle spending policy

Alex, I'm not surprised you didn't include the actual quote, in your last comment. That quote indicates clearly, that it is the price rather than the player, which is important to some people. -

Certainly seems to me that people think that it's better to use loads of money on shite than not to use loads of money. http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=30371 I take it you havn't read ANY of the above posts. You are wrong, which is why I address the issue about whether or not people are asking Ashley to blast all the cash. It's not about blasting all the cash on 1 or 2 superstars. -

I just can't believe how obsessed people are with getting rid of the 35 million. It is crystal clear that Ashley could buy many popularity points by spending it all tomorrow on Ronnie Biggs. -
But do you reckon the Famous Five were happy if they camped a lot, or if they were happiest when they waited years then camped? I dunno, poll? They were happiest when they had a good time without spending a lot of money relative to other similar sized groups of children who went camping. But what if they had a better time, but spent more on their tent than the other group, is that better value for money overall? No children should be having a bad net enjoyment cost rate. Do you like camping? :) :icon_lol: Do you like Scotch Eggs? Haha Class!

The Famous Five often went camping. And they were never bored.

I enjoyed the post-fight press conference yesterday, at which both the victorious Ukrainian and Haye were present. Haye said that he had lost, partly because of a broken toe he'd had a few weeks ago. The Ukrainian said that he shouldn't make excuses. Haye offered to show him his toe. The Ukrainian agreed to look at it. Haye showed it to him, and said "It's not pretty, is it?" The Ukrainian said "Well, I'm not a doctor." And Haye said "Yes, you are a doctor" LOL At least these two seem to have a sense of humour, and the Ukrainian spoke really good English. -

I do find these controversial statements that boxers come out with before fights, to seem a bit attention seeking. -

Routledge has been truly awesome in the Championship, but has disappointed in the Prem. I'm with you all the way there. My little gripe is the use of the phrase 'classic example'. To me that means that there are other examples, and that he's kind of typical. I interpret 'classic' as being somehow synonymous with 'typical' in other words. If that is what is meant, I must protest. I don't think there are many examples of players who have been so fantastic in the Championship, but have flopped in the Prem. Yes, Routledge has flopped in the Prem, in his short time there, but I believe he is very very talented, and would like to give him another chance in the Prem. He was QPR's star player towards the end of the season. -
This thread is the consequence of the following... Max Clifford.

Funny that. I knew someone once, who thought boxing was fun to watch. The only bit they didn't like was when they punched each other -

I doesn't take a genius to work out why you use the acronym NPO rather than the whole phrase - no, not to save time. As for your second point - haha Good one;) -

How so? Simple, they pay players many thousands of pounds a week, and usually don't make a profit. Man City and Chelsea are certainly non-profit organisations, and I dare say most clubs are too. I daresay there are some clubs in England that make a profit, but I doubt if any of them are in the Premier League. -

QPR must be very 'stingy' (I use the term loosely, since no Premier League club can really be called stingy) if they won't even match our wages. Good for them. -
