  1. You don't like the idea that we should prioritize the employment of low-skilled British workers instead of important cheap foreign labour to do the same? Cool. We disagree. Not sure that there are any racial undertones there. British people can be black, white, brown or whatever. Was it regarding race or nationality? Serious question btw. And no mate, because my ideological beliefs don't lie with UKIP, but it's my way of making a point I feel passionately about.
  2. He doesn't lead me, he's getting my vote, I've already said I'm not an avid campaigner or supporter by any means - I'm just explaining why I have decided to vote UKIP at the upcoming election. And didn't he actually state that he wanted to scrap laws preventing companies discriminating on nationality? If so, no issues with that, as I've made clear I support British jobs for British workers. If not, and it was race he was referring to , then obviously that's fucking stupid.
  3. Of course there are going to be racists voting for the party - racist people are going to be attracted to any party which is critical of mass immigration for obvious reasons. But there's a difference between a party attracting racists, and UKIP being a racist party/full of racists. UKIP are the only political party to ban former BNP members - Labour has 12 councilors that were former BNP. The lass in question was instantly expelled from UKIP.
  4. I reckon that's a pretty straight up point mate. UKIP, from what I've seen, and not what the media has told me, is made up from insufferable home county libertarians who are aspiring members of the TaxPayer's alliance and fawn over Thatcher. That makes them cunts, aye, but racists? Nah.
  5. Would it still be worthy of a smiley and your sanctimony if I said 'I hate the Tories and I'm voting Labour' - the red Tories? I'm guessing not. Despite the fact there's little difference.
  6. I've told you leaving the EU is important to me yes. But for the reason I just listed, and many more, the Tory party couldn't buy my vote.
  7. It's a bigger problem in Islam than UKIP mate.
  8. Ideological warfare on education/teachers isn't what I want. Real term NHS cuts, with mental health especially being decimated and existing as a skeleton service isn't what I want. Christopher Grayling's massive balls up with legal aid and prison's isn't what I want. IDS's sanctions on the most vulnerable in society aren't what I want.
  9. And here we have our first example of what I'm taking about. Islam is an idea. I think it's shit. I think all religion is shite, but if I had to put them in order, Islam would rank comfortably at the bottom. I'm allowed to think ideas are shit. That's ok. That should be encouraged in a post-christian semi-secular democracy. I have no issue with any individual Muslim, and take to task the 'Britain First' brigade whenever they're making up bullshit anti-muslim propaganda. But I also have a massive problem with homophobia, misogyny and ultra-conservatism. These three things are pretty prevalent in the Islamic community in the UK, never mind abroad. So why should it be encouraged? I saw a bizarre situation on Facebook when a prominent member of the NE far-left was decrying the Salvation Army for homophobic rhetoric they espoused in the 80's - yet this same individual was happy to associate with extremist Islamists who on their own website stated they believed in death for apostates and gays. So no, I don't think Islamic immigration is something that I look favorably on. Although I dare say I wouldn't have an issue with it at all if the themes I've just mentioned had been tackled head on at the beginning rather than avoided for 'sensitivity'.
  10. I'm aware of his background and everything he stands for. He's a cunt like the rest of them. But voting a red shade of neo-liberalism won't pander to the corporates and mega rich any less - I mean Miliband can't even think of a successful wealth tax ffs, the mansion tax is inherently flawed - a second home tax would be much more workable and fairer. I'm under no illusions, I don't think UKIP are 'saviours' or anything like that. But I do know they'll oppose mass-immigration (not nearly enough for my liking like, especially not Islamic), and they'll get us out the EU. These are both two massively positive steps in my eyes. Where as Tory/Labour/Lib don't have a single stand out policy that makes me think 'aye, that's a vote winner'. Besides, even if I was a Labour party member, I'd still be voting UKIP (Really). Massively safe seats are bad and mean the deadwood is shipped up here and the councillors get lazy. I want Labour to fight for my vote. And I'd never be able to bring myself to vote Tory.
  11. Well to be honest yes, I'd argue the European Union doesn't benefit the working class on the whole. I think people have every right to look at mass-immigration in isolation. Nobody voted for it, nobody asked for it, and when people made valid complaints they were mocked, abused and labelled. The free movement of people wasn't that bad in theory, but when it began to involve countries with massive economic differences to the UK, that's when it causes a problem (not just for the UK, but also a shortage of skilled workers in the country of origin). Regarding the above mentioned rights, they're all great, but to be honest the idea of the EU completely undermining the sovereignty of the UK is backwards, regardless of whether it's for a good reason or for a bad reason. The good could be implemented ourselves once we left the EU - the bad could be fucked off completely. A strong, but non-piss taking trade union movement is what will achieve those rights without the EU. Why are we pandering to multi-national corporations? We already let them take the piss as it is with their tax arrangements. We wouldn't need a bedroom tax, nor even a mansion tax if these were made to pay even a little bit more, not even their fair share. When it gets to the point that we are allowing faceless, unaccountable TNC's dictate government policy, we should be worried.
  12. Sorry mate I'll try and keep this as concise as possible: -I oppose mass-immigration because an unfettered supply of unskilled/lowskilled workers is obviously bad for the working class here in terms of employment opportunities as well as perpetuating a 'race to the bottom'. -Holding such a view has had me called racist on numerous occasions, by people that seem to want to show how tolerant they are, while being intolerant of any opposing opinion. I'm more than aware of the supposed economic benefits, HOWEVER, these benefits are in effect the 'productivity' of immigrants, and surely would be just the same if it was British workers filling these jobs? Just to make it clear I would never EVER support any form of repatriation, I just think it's time to cut our losses sharpish. -Also, just because it may benefit the country economically slightly, is that something we should continue to support regardless of the impact it has on British workers? That sounds a hell of a lot like Thatcherism to me mate.
  13. I genuinely believe a failure to address mass-immigration (and consequently EU membership) will result in the left losing influence over an entire generation. I know I'm supposed to sit on the internet and preach the INTERNATIONALIST PERSPECTIVE but I think there's enough Ivory Tower dwellers as it is; ignore it at your peril And I've not even mentioned social impacts yet. I wonder if the people of Oxford and Rotherham feel 'culturally enriched'? At least someone from the 'Comment is Free' section of the Guardian can tell us all that mass-child rape is compensated for by nice cuisine.... Not that I'm for one minute suggesting this is in any way an issue that immigrants have a monopoly over. However it seems like a pretty reasonable statement (to me at least) to point out there are certain sub-sections of the Islamic community that suffer from deep-rooted misogyny and see Western Girls as 'fair game' due to their lifestyles. This wouldn't have been allowed to reach such a devastating stage however, if it wasn't for other members of such communities giving their silent approval to such behavior, and our own authorities for failing to act to concerns raised. Such a comment has once again, despite actual empirical evidence, and the fact there are a number of nationwide police operations set up to investigate such issues (Sanctuary up here), resulted in cries of RACISM and BIGOTRY. (Ironically from the far-far-left, who only care about homophobia and misogyny if the perpetrators are white). It seems obvious to me why many people, rightly or wrongly, are looking at UKIP and thinking 'at least these cunts are willing to put their heads above the parapet and say something'.
  14. I turn 18 just in time to vote in the upcoming election, and I'm pretty certain that unless something drastic happens I'll be giving UKIP my vote. Think I already posted on this thread a while back saying I was considering it - but my mind is pretty much made up now. I'm not particularly happy to be doing so, I wouldn't call myself a 'supporter', and certainly not a member (don't think my centre left-ish politics would fit in too well with them), but I'm just massively fucked off with a large section of the 'left'. Now I'm pretty decent at articulating myself, but I've lost count of the number of times the phrases 'fascist', 'nazi', 'racist', 'bigot' etc. have been used against me simply for stating that I completely oppose the premise of mass-immigration. My argument is simple - I've yet to hear a single person explain how mass immigration, and the resulting unlimited supply of cheap low-skilled labour benefits the working class in any way shape or form. It's a wet-dream for big business, yet I see so called socialists bending over backwards to tell us how wonderful it is. Not one person has been able to explain that to me. Instead they've attempted to patronise me in Owen Jones mode and told me to 'STOP SCAPEGOATING AND HATING ON IMMIGRANTS!!!!!!!'. Well I'm not, my ire is directed towards politicians. I'm not a cunt. I don't 'blame' immigrants. In fact, my life is barely, if at all, impacted on by immigrants - however that doesn't mean I can't oppose something - in the same way I'm not affected by the bedroom tax (or spare room subsidy if we have any Tory pedants on here). I keep hearing from a lot of people that 'they don't mind debating immigration, as long as it's a fair debate and isn't toxic/bigoted', however these same people completely shut down debate in reality by stating 'immigrants boost the economy by X, so any objections to them must be a racist, therefore you are Enoch Powell.' When did the left become Thatcherites? Because immigration puts X into the economy, does that still mean all resulting issues that stem from it are OK? High-skilled, specialised immigration - I get that, totally, fair enough. But low/un-skilled? Why do we need it? We have plenty of British unemployed who would be capable of doing these jobs - why are we advocating that these people are shoved to the bottom of the pile - or even better, make patronising statements such as 'WELL IF A BRIT CAN'T GET A JOB AHEAD OF AN IMMIGRANT THEY DON'T DESERVE IT LOL LAZY BRITS'. Imagine the faux-outrage if such a statement was made about any other nationality? Why couldn't British workers offer the exact same economic benefit? (obviously excluding high-skilled jobs). British jobs for British workers isn't a racist concept. Yes it may have been used by the BNP, but was also mentioned by Gordan Brown (but that was ok), and more recently Farage has said the same and it has now became racist again. I support the idea that we should attempt to ensure as high a level of employment amongst British people first - and I imagine, in fact know, that there's a low of ordinary, working class, Labour/Union lads that feel the same. I think that people are going to get a shock in May. Not regarding seats, UKIP won't win many of those, but by the share of the vote. People are angry, they feel ignored and marginalised. My grandad, a lifelong Labour voter will be voting UKIP in May, I reckon I'll be joining him.
  15. Erm no mate because the number of people that don't commit murder would also increase.
  16. I spend my time on Facebook arguing with people posting pro-UKIP bullshit, and my time on Twitter doing the opposite There's a middle ground to be found somewhere. I live in the North East, of course immigration isn't my main worry, but there'll be plenty of people who live elsewhere for whom it is.
  17. I said I was seriously considering giving them my vote, not that I was voting for them. The likelihood is I will be voting for Labour with a heavy heart because I don't want the Tories running the country.
  18. I imagine being anti-EU (which I am) would be one such reason.
  19. An unlimited supply of cheap labour is a capitalist's wet dream. 'THEY R TAKING OUR JOBS' is obviously wide of the mark, but pretending that EU migration isn't having a negative effect on the employment of lesser/unskilled British workers is also very naive in my opinion. I don't blame the immigrants themselves by the way, this isn't a case of hatred, fear, or division - I just think that stricter immigration controls would be a positive move. I think the writing off of an entire underclass as being 'lazy/feckless' and perpetuating the myth that all Polish people are automatically hard-workers is a dangerous precedent, and one that has lead to the rise of UKIP.
  20. Nope, absolutely not, and I've had that point raised to me before when I attempted to explain why we shouldn't castigate people as being 'thick' or 'racist' for voting UKIP. But does that mean we should ignore it and put our hands over our ears? Not for me.
  21. UKIP will continue to increase in popularity until the 'liberal-progressives' among us in their ivory towers accept that immigration is a serious issue for many people. As someone with centre-left politics I should be repulsed by the home county Thatcherite's and libertarians that seem to infest UKIP, but I'm seriously considering giving them my vote. Hell, the main thing stopping me is the fact that a vote for anything other than Labour is basically a waiver for another Tory government.
  22. Desperate for a ticket for this (two if possible). Preferably U16 or U21 ticket but will happily take an adult one. Message me if any are going spare, cheers.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5B7ijMjc2Js It's also great to see thousands of Jews bringing New York to a standstill to protest against the actions of Israel.
