Trump is with Russia, not Ukraine, but Europe is supposed to be on Ukraine’s side too. I’m always struck by how that particular genocide doesn’t inspire the same level of solidarity here in the UK. I didn’t spot a single Ukraine flag during any performance at Glastonbury. Nor did I hear any artists lead any rousing chants of “Slava Ukraine”, despite Netanyahu’s tactics of siege and starvation coming straight out of Putin’s playbook.

There has been in the past - e.g. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-61943613 - but it's true (if grim and sad) that there seems to be a degree of "conflict fatigue" where Ukraine is concerned, yes.

Come on man Bilbo, it was the Wimbledon museum, not a Jam museum.

I hear all the exhibits at the Jam museum are well preserved.

Wear full NUFC kit and I guarantee you'll be responsible for AT LEAST three posts by mackems claiming to have met you before and aimed such devastating verbal barbs at you that you were scared and ran away and everyone in the pub cheered

I honestly feel like if they just made homes affordable it would make things a lot better on this front. Labour seem to be doing absolutely nothing on that front and I've no clue why in all honesty.

A lot of vested interests there tbh. Labour MPs don't want the value of their homes and property portfolios to go down, and no floating voter is going to vote for it either. I fully agree though, house prices are one of the big issues crippling this country (and the west generally, it's not just a UK thing obviously).

I remember back in the summer of 69, around the time I got my first real six-string, players didn't sell for anywhere near the amount they're going for these days. Moneys gone mental these days, really miss the vibe back then, evenings at the drive-in, playing in a band, those were the best days of my life. :cuppa:

This Year 8 school band playing the stage at the Hunstanton summer festival at the weekend introduced their cover of Summer of '69 with the words "here's one your parents or grandparents might know". Cheeky fuckers.

Apparently he was, at one time, in a psychedelic prog rock band with Vangelis (of Bladerunner soundtrack fame). And they did a concept album based on the Book of Revelation.

Demis Roussos I mean, not Elanga.

It's even called "666". Absolutely zero subtlety and all the better for it. :D

It's our 25th wedding anniversary today, we walked past a fairly new restaurant in town a good while ago now which we've never been in before and Mrs HMHM said it smelled lovely so I thought I'd treat her and tonight I'm taking her past it again for another whiff of it. :good:

  8. Just back from a weekend in Hunstanton. Who needs pintxos in San Sebastian when you can be watching a ropey ABBA tribute band on an open-air stage in Sunny Hunny?
