Some will, aye. But if it looks really contrived you’d imagine they’d get hammered. There’s not really any perfect solution which eliminates gamesmanship, cheating, whatever you want to call it. But I also don’t see that becoming much of a factor in many games. It’s certainly worth piloting some schemes that give the players more protection and takes the decision making out of the hands of those employed by the clubs

I agree with some of your views.Something needs to be done with a policy Arsenal especially have used for many years.Arsenal are defending and two of their defenders go for the same high ball, collide and stay down with head ‘injuries’ to get the game stopped. An independent head injury specialist could come on in that scenario and inform the ref that there’s nowt wrong with the cheating cockney bastards, with a mandatory yellow card produced for both players.

Then you need severe sanctions for anyone deliberately abusing it - see Dean Richards in rugby / Bloodgate. Also, TV footage would clearly show if the player didn’t receive a blow to the head. People will always try to take advantage of things by cheating but that’s not a reason not to take concussions etc. much more seriously than is currently the case

I agree football needs to take head injuries more seriously but a player, under orders from the manager, could easily make contact with an opposition players shoulder, with his head ,and go down holding his head. It would happen.

Taking the decision of concussion injuries out of the manager's hands could a way around it. The Premier League dispatch an independent medical delegate, qualified in neurology to each match whose call it is to make whether a player suffering a head injury should be allowed to continue or not.

If the player says he’s feeling groggy after a blow to the head,I cannot imagine anyone qualified in neurology doing anything other than demanding the player leaves the pitch.

  4. It seems the makems have a player called Cory Evans who, against Milton Keynes, was booed on to the field as sub in the first half then booed off the field in the second half when he was subbed.Against Burton he again was booed off the field when subbed.

    Ffs 😂😂😂

Maybe this will be the job that sees him off for good. WBA should have taken the stats for themselves rather than listening to his cronies. They'll have to see the season out with him, and hopefully it'll be a winless finish.

I'm still surprised Alex Bruce hasn't shown up here yet. He must go trawling the corners of the internet looking to defend him from keyboard warriors.

He’s clearly been brought in to get WBA promoted. He took his time before signing his contract. There should be no excuses if he fails to get them up but we know he’ll have some and with the backing of his pals in the press,he’ll be blame free again.

I’m after a cup final ticket.Any idea where I can get one?

  6. Nee mention anymore of derbies next season. The gap is only going to get wider ,which they’ll never accept. They’ll continue to hound every manager out if they don’t win every game. They’ve never really replaced cabbage heed, which must nark them. They got rid of Midget Johnson, even though they were third in the league, but they’ll never be happy until they’re above us,whatever league they’re in.Soon they’ll be witnessing the scruffy urchins of Pennywell and Hendon wearing their toon tops with pride.Nee light at the end of their tunnel and they know it.
