It would just get turned down though. I think Craig's right. If the club actually thought he was the answer rather than just looking for a bargain, half a mill should be neither here nor there for a club looking at playing PL football next season. And it's for a striker ffs. If he's not in the plans beyond that we shouldn't even be considering him and just sticking with what we have. well your point was that "unless the club think hes the answer rather than someone on the cheap" but I dont think the club think hes the answer hence the quibbling my view is different in that I dont want him at all but that was me trying to be objective rather than throwing my, already voiced, opinion in again

no, I'm not there anymore anyway, was only a christmas job actually my xbox developed a dodgy fan problem so I took it back and decided may as well upgrade to an elite, which was in a bundle with those two

I've not seen a great deal of him, but he didn't seem to be express pace (perhaps similarly paced to Milner). Seemed best suited to a central role - one area where he might find it hard to crack a spot with the popularity of Smith and Nolan. thing is, he has better delivery than our pacey wingers and will get himself into the position to cross it, can find a pass on the ground to when needed he has as good a final midfield product (and a rocket of a shot) as we're likely to be able to attract o'hara left to make the crosses, jonas on the right, on his better foot for when he does get the crosses in instead of left or cutting back and that then frees guthrie for the middle

Nolan was once a pretty decent PL player. O'Hara is a better shout than Beckford except that we'd be signing Beckford permanently and O'Hara would only be on loan. I wonder what sort of money it would take to get him on a permanent basis. Probably way too much. I don't know though, spurs dont need him and they're not exactly struggling for money plus if it was between a loan for ohara and buying beckford id still prefer a loan for ohara I tihnk he'd make more of a difference to our team and, with a little sense, hopefully a future fee could be agreed as part of the deal you never know with this lot though, its looking more and mroe likely we're getting beckford and this ohara stuff is pure speculation but we get nothing from the club nowadays so who knows what could happen

never scored in the CCC for leeds, admittedly he only had 10 appearances we've all been shocked by the drop in quality of opposition this season compared to even the lower PL teams who is really expecting him to make the step up? all I'm seeing is the possibility of us signing a player (and knowing this board) losing one already here and expecting him to be a disruption to what seems a comfortable dressing room at the moment, aside from barton sat in the corner muttering to himself
