With Gutierrez in the team P20 W6 D 6 late* Without P4 W0 D0 L4 CT was banging this drum for ages until he missed a few games and we got even worse. No surprise he's starting to bang that drum again because Jonas had a few disappointing touches in the second half. *one of those losses was to West Ham when he only managed 25 minutes, and we weren't losing when he went off.

We didn't even get a chance to sit back....they hit us with wave after wave of attack immediately after the break. 2 top class saves and a penalty conceded in the first few minutes. It was backs to the wall stuff.... And needed given the rockets villa had wedged up their arose. We didn't sit that deep as a tactical choice and invite an average villa to attack. A spirited villa put the gas on and we were forced to defend for our points. Disappointed we didn't ride a short storm and then put our foot on the ball a bit more, but no wonder we're edgy with our away record.

Shola's name precedes him. He had a better pass accuracy than Cabaye, Debuchy, Gutierrez, Taylor and Anita. The only one of them getting stick is Gutierrez. He made 5 clearances. Only Taylor and Debuchy won more aerial duels. He was dispossessed once.

I think it's natural arses got twitchy in that second half but some way OTT negative reactions to our first away win of the season. Our first half was inspired by Sissoko and Gouffran. They disappeared second half. there was no way they were gonna keep up the pace they had set, even if Villa hadn't taken it up a notch. As it was,Villa went up 3 gears. Sissoko was dropped deeper at the expense of Perch, but he still wasn't getting involved. The subs? No surprise either of the new 2 went off, or that the other new lad came on. So the complaints are Perch came off or Shola/Anita came on. There was no-one else on the bench I particularly fancied coming on.
