  1. He hobbled out for the second half and looked injured to me until he came off. Could not believe Pardew left him out there so long. Last sub, but we were like 10 men with him in the second half.
  2. My problem with the Mail article started with the headline - "Outcry as England stars are banned from having a poppy on their kit" It's misleading on several points.. 1. There was no outcry. Their story was the start of the outcry 2. There's not a ban for England, it's a ban for all international teams 3. It's not a ban of the poppy, it's a ban for any logos 4. There is not a star in the England team, every one of them is a c*nt. The "FIFA are Nazi sympathizers" guff takes it to Vizian levels.
  3. Who has taken an anti-west stance? you can comment on the rest of that post, and more, if you like. No Leazes, he's rejecting your basic premise, so the rest of the debate is derelict. do you talk like that in the pub Are we in a pub? Did I say that we were ? Gerld "What is a truck?"
  4. Far more entertaining than the first 5 pages to be fair.
  5. In ten years I fear men will be handed white feathers for daring to be clean shaven for fireworks night. Really appreciate the sentiment of Movember, but more and more people saying you're a cunt if you don't have mutton chops.
  6. Best thing you've ever posted. If you want to speak freely, go to another country that didn't win wars against fascist opponents. The irony is delicious and I fear absolutley genuine. EDIT: Point of order...no-one here is offended by, or opposed to the poppy afaict
  7. It's amazing some people have managed to supress the rage they feel that their team don't wear a poppy tbh. We only did it for the first time last year. Decades of anger they didn't know they had...until the Daily Mail reminded them. quite amazing the amount of rage some people feel that we didn't just lie down and make friends with Hitler, Stalin, Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi, Bin Laden, and other assorted lunatics, who according to rags like the Guardian, are "human beings" and have "rights" etc etc.... Are you saying Hitler wasn't a human being? We're through the Parky glass, people.
  8. No-one at the daily mail is outraged one iota. They play their readers like Talksport fuck their listeners in the rage hole in their ear. how are things in the namby pamby Guardian today ? And are people still clinging to every word printed under the name of Louise Taylor ? I barely ever read it apart from Charlie Brooker and David Mitchell. Thought the way they hung Assange/Wikileaks out to dry was a disgrace.

  11. said when Steven Taylor was 17 he would play for England, unfortunately his finger pointing is holding him back Aye, that and his defending.
  12. Definitely, but I just worry about the strength in depth especially after losing so many from midfield. With the international break and the next 2 matches away in Manchester, those players wouldn't be considered for a midfield role for a few weeks anyway. By which time we should have Cabaye back. Bit concerned about Tiote as he has stayed with us rather than going off with the Ivory Coast. Gosling did alright yesterday, made the most tackles anyway. Wasn't overly impressed with Gosling although perhaps he was playing to orders as he was more or less an extra centre-half most of the time. I thought he was turd too. The people sat behind us were saying he was turd (they said Guthrie was too like so they're talking shite on that score)...but when you look at the stats, CG is spot on that Gosling did well in tackling, which is what we needed second half, someone breaking up their play in front of our back 4.
  13. "Alan Pardew's achievement of starting the new campaign is BIGGER [than Keegan's in '94]" It's still making me chuckle.
  14. I thought poppy's were a fundraising initiative by the British Legion. I reckon a lot of the most outspoken critics of these sort of things like Fifa, Jon Snow etc. don't even reach the £3 suggested donation themselves, they'll stick 50p in the box and be ever so pompous about what it means to wear the poppy with pride. But I've got more time for someone who actually donates a tenner without wearing a poppy than for a footballer or news presenter that pops one on as it's handed to them free of charge in the studio.
  15. Just when I'm happy with my level of cautious optimism, someone has to go and write bollocks like this and make me look a miserable twat... http://www.blogonthetyne.co.uk/2011/11/the-first-night-in-front-of-th.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  16. He was on 80k when the club wanted you to think the newowner was an ambitious big spender. Now he's cultivating the image of a frugal genius getting the wage bill down and the position up, its 55k.
  17. why isn't there a poppy in the toontastic banner? I can only assume that Ant/PP must be a Muslim al Qaeda suicide bomber Nazi. Disgraceful.
  18. poppys aren't banned. Every fan can wear them, as can everyone on the bench and every player before and after the match and every presenter providing coverage. If the point is to raise awareness and funding for the British Legion then the job will be done very effectively.
  19. It's such a shame that some cunts these days don't appreciate the sacrifice that was made at the time. I can only imagine how disgusted they'd be if they saw the society of today that they were fighting for, with pricks revelling in slagging off the poppy appeal. No-one's done that. It's poppy appeal advocates slagging off FIFA for a non-poppy-specific rule that's been in place for years....and revelling in it.
  20. Thought HBA did one gorgeous run with the ball past 3 opponents, but infuriated by his refusal to pass. Needs to watch Goal. He can't go faster than the ball.
  21. It's just a blanket rule from FIFA Tbf. No logos on the strips other than the brand. They'll have spent no time on this at all.
  22. They haven't dropped a single point to any team outside the big 6.
  23. 8 more points at the end of last season would have lifted us to 7th
