They can do that? Twots. When I went in with an out of date license they said I had to go and get ID with an address. 2 hour trip home and back for a bloody gas bill. Cheers
-
I've reserved a car and I'm supposed to pick it up on Friday. Last time I had trouble though because the address on my license isn't current. So I've sent that to the DVLA to be updated....and they still haven't returned it. If it doesn't come tomorrow, any ideas how I can still get the car? Ta

I didn't think it was too bad, apart from the narration. Can't believe they got Gruey in to do it.

FYP And good answers by the way. Who is a decent indie DVD distributor in the UK? I think it was Tartan, but the went bust. HF they're not much use to me then, are they? You could Google them and find out who took them out of administration. You artistic types man, you want everyone else to do the legwork.

Bloody Romans!

Most people don't even read the festival name tttt. The leaves are what swing it.
-
FYP Fair call. Sort of related question, if your movie was about to be released to DVD would you want the laurels of the festivals it's been screened at on the cover? What if they were B and C list festivals? If they can put quotes from z list magazines like Bella on the sides of buses for blockbusters, I don't see why B and C list festival laurels shouldn't go on the DVD.

That rant was funny as fuck... Still got a link to it Nicos?? Max Keiser is a god... "You're suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, you've fallen in love with your captors"

Krugman wrote about this a couple of days ago... Goldman Sachs were Obama's biggest personal campaign contributers.

And here's the real punch line. After playing an intimate role in four historic bubble catastrophes, after helping $5 trillion in wealth disappear from the NASDAQ, after pawning off thousands of toxic mortgages on pensioners and cities, after helping to drive the price of gas up to $4 a gallon and to push 100 million people around the world into hunger, after securing tens of billions of taxpayer dollars through a series of bailouts overseen by its former CEO, what did Goldman Sachs give back to the people of the United States in 2008? Fourteen million dollars. That is what the firm paid in taxes in 2008, an effective tax rate of exactly one, read it, one percent. The bank paid out $10 billion in compensation and benefits that same year and made a profit of more than $2 billion yet it paid the Treasury less than a third of what it forked over to CEO Lloyd Blankfein, who made $42.9 million last year. John Terry earns that in a year.

No honestly, it's funny too...

If you're as dull as me you'll find this more detailed piece from back in July rivetting.... Goldman Sachs have talked about suing matt Taibbi...but haven't.

Exactly, the government should be regulating, not enabling corporations. You use the word conspiracy to have a negative connotation, but there's no doubt that the treasury conspired with Goldman Sachs to save AIG while letting their competition (Lehman Bros) fail, because they had no financial interests in that company, in fact they had a vested interest (one less competitor) in seeing it fail... Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson taking care of Goldman Sachs where he previously served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Singing "we'll never sit down" shouldn't cause any more trouble than standing for 60 minutes before singing it (as the whole corner did). I can see what you're saying. But it would be an extermely petty and damaging move to go back to last years situation over a song.

US makes $4 billion from bailout banks Nearly a year after the federal rescue of the nation’s biggest banks, taxpayers have begun seeing profits from the hundreds of billions of dollars in aid that many critics thought might never be seen again. The bit you quoted seems weird to me too, because if they're looking into the origins of the crisis, they may have missed the point of what disaster capitalism is about, which is exploiting disasters rather than necessarily creating them. It would be lunacy to suggest that there was any conspiracy to bring the western monetary system to the brink of collapse, but it's quite clear that after the event, people in the highest levels of power did their utmost to secure the wealth of the richest at the cost of the poorest. In her book Klein predicts that sort of behaviour and in the week the economic crisis hit hardest she blogged extensively about the government response...
