I reckon they should enjoy moments like that while they can tbh - we timewasted against them because they were on paper the better side. That's not going to be the case much longer.

That video is now private, what have we missed?

Anyone else notice City won the league tonight?
Apparently thats 5 of the past 6 seasons they've won it, 3 in a row.
At this point the rest of the league should be willing us on for everyone's sake tbh cos the other teams clearly aren't going to manage.
Congrats @LondonBlue - it is deserved and i think this is probably the best PL side ive seen.

I think it's unlikely that they go to the trouble of building a statistical model and then allow their projections to be based on the alphabet.
Gemmill is correct, Brighton and Villa are on the same points and Brighton are higher. It can't be alphabetical.
It looks to me like it considers Man Utd more likely to finish 3rd than us based on games remaining. The infographic isn't solely dedicated to top 4 or not, it also tries to predict league placement.

Now that we have CL pretty much, I do actually think we should win the final two games anyway to finish above Manure. Only team we've never finished higher than iirc?
-
At least we will clear the finish line on our own terms, as much as it would have been nice to get it done today.
1 point from two games. Surely we've got this.

That's a hard tempt on fate there, let's see if the universe buys it

Howay man, there is no chance at all that Liverpool lose this game. Firstly because they're Liverpool, and secondly because it would directly benefit us, and we're Newcastle.
It ain't happening

I think at this point Spurs have pivoted from being a football team to a high end comedy act.

Glad we did sign him though, imagine what a player capable of what he's managed this season would be costing us now. I think he's a great player for us, I really think he's one of the best in the team. Howe clearly thinks he's a fantastic player too for his tactical brain and workrate, but for me it's just his sheer determination and constant threat he poses. Really pleased for him that he's had such a good season.

Just reading the thread actually, they are having a full on breakdown today tbh. A few of ours are on there talking about how 'good for the North East it is that one of our clubs will be in the CL given that the others are performing so poorly'
They're all climbing over each other to adamantly protest that they don't care, demonstrating the sort of indifference a starving man might have to a 3 course meal.
They also managed to crowbar Brexit into it, and then fall out with each other about it. All in all it's been a productive day for RTG's NUFC thread denizens.

I mean which is it, luck or match fixing?
It's neither, and he knows it's neither.

Aye Brighton fully deserve Europe this season IMO. Good luck with it.

I got the impression that he was a bit concerned everyone was going to think it was job done last night. Which tbf is exactly how I'm viewing it if not the players
He looked agitated by the talk of CL football and I think he's probably really feeling the pressure to keep us on the rails to get over the line. This is new territory for him too I suppose.

Those figures are pointless. And separate to this they have some very good lawyers. I don't begrudge them at all but Man City have the best squad in the world because they spent a shitload of money assembling it and even more paying for it (wages). They have the best manager in the world, head and shoulders above all others, who is there because he's (rightfully) been given free reign. Like I said they're favourites in every game they play.
That doesn't mean that you only need to spend loads of money to be a top team, you can spend loads without proper leadership and be Manu or Chelsea.
Aye, this - also City spent the lions share of their money further back in time. It seems like it's possible to remain competitive at a lower and more sustainable level once you have that established foundation, but it takes a lot of expenditure to get up to it.
Man Utd and Chelsea consistently overspend because they only believe in the galactico approach to buying players, not the team building one.

Yes but that seems to be because they think that either player might throw the game to ensure they're playing CL football next year
Suppose it does have a certain logic to it.

Is there absolutely no chance of Longstaff being fit?

Don't get me wrong. I desperately want to win all 3.
In any normal season, I think just about any city fan will say premier league over champions league. But they'll also caveat that with getting the champions league won for the first time to stop people holding it against us.
Also city fans hate uefa and their witch hunt. that's why we boo the champions league anthem every single time. charging us with zero actual evidence (even the time barred charges had no evidence) no wonder we don't co-operate. grrr need to get back in my box!
I guess coming from the perspective of never having won either, I find it hard to imagine this reality
Maybe I'm over egging it, but I believed the CL was a much grander accomplishment than the PL. I suppose in different ways perhaps, but still. The best teams in history are remembered for winning in Europe, not the league - I think this will be a defining trophy for you.

to be honest i feel the same way. My priorities this season (as of now) are
1. FA Cup - smallest trophy but the rags factor pushes its bragging rights value through the roof
2. Premier League - always the priority and after reeling the gunners in it would be a nightmare to lose it now
3. Champions League - Its a monkey we need to get off our back but aside from that, it's usually second choice
I'm a bit surprised by that tbh - I would have thought the CL would be the absolute pinnacle for you? I'm personally really hoping that you manage it as I think Guardiola has earned it for what he's achieved this season.

One of them later on in the thread notes that they've only got 29 tickets left of their 3k allocation and that this is some commitment by their fans. Then another lad comes in and corrects him saying that they gave 2000 back to us as they were unable to shift them
So we'll have 1000 miserable Leicester fans cheering their team on. Poor bastards.
