Hey still at least we got rid of pardew......
That is some small consolation, I agree.
-
We aren't fucked cos they're lucky, we're fucked cos we're useless. If we go down it has fuck all to do with the mackems who have been utterly inconsequential all season, and everything to do with how utterly dire this football club is. We could easily still stay up despite them winning today - the reason we don't think we will is because we're beyond shit.
-
I'm really worried Charnley will be given another chance.
Who would replace him? The only person less senior than him when he was employed was the janitor... We have no management structure.
But yes, many players will go; I think most of the first team in fact.
-
It'll go something like this....
followed by this......
Then this.
....and finally, this.
I hope we stay up for this alone.
-
If we stay up, do you think he'll be humble and classy about it, or will he be metaphorically teabagging everyone in here?
-
Such benevolence.
Nothing brings people together like a crisis I guess.

You and Chez are Toontastic's Greatest Love Story imo.
Gemmill, you're out in force on the boards at the moment - did you break a leg in yoga or something, or have you been sucked in again by all the charming personalities on here.
-
To give Fish some credit here, we're probably still only one win from staying up - so there's that.
Obviously it looks different when you consider that the club is looking more of a shambles currently than at any point I can remember, that we're stuck with a manager who has lost the dressing room, his self respect and his marbles, that we have no defenders for the final games of our season except Colo who apparently thinks this malaise is our fault, that we have lost 8 games on the trot while the teams around us are picking up points, and of course that we have key players out injured...but yeah, we might fluke a win, who knows?

He sounds like an absolutely terrified individual. Of life in general.
-
I mean... is Charnley actually qualified? Like, seriously qualified? Does he have a background in management? Or football?
-
no chance, he even picked "ireland" for his country, fecking irish coming on here taking our traffic
He's also not having a bit of fun he's trying to drive traffic to his "comedy" (this better not be you @@The Fish) blog/news site by posting it on forums/twitter pending on what club it'll be related to. (see the twitter search)
-
Sigh...this is just getting fucking stupid now. There's clearly no leadership whatsoever at this club. I'll now be amazed if we don't go down.
-
Has he now reached the point of actively willing the club to fail?
-
I'm sure Fish put something down, he'll have seen this coming a mile off.
-
If ever there was proof that our system is broken beyond all repair, this is it. Clegg is having his seat saved by tactical Tory voting without which he'd be ousted.
-
Aye Gideon has been fucking mint.
What's his degree in, Modern History?
He didn't even get the top grade...
-
I'm glad at least some of us were savvy enough to bet on this. A few weeks back I just couldn't see it myself, but obviously over time it's become apparent just how incompetent Carver is, and just how naive I was to believe that 35 points would probably be enough.
-
I basically think he'll have no effect whatsoever. I guess his followers, like him, are spoilt little rich kids who will be too busy at boarding school.
Labour need to at least another 5 years to allow the new talent to rise to the top. The current shadow lot are just old hasbeens that need to be moved along.
Ed Balls as chancellor would be terrifying.
Actually, I'm inclined to agree with you on this. Labour still hasn't sorted itself out for the post-Blair era, and I'm not at all convinced by it in its current form. Still don't know if that warrants risking the Tories for another 5 years, but I take the point.
-
FFS, this situation is ridiculous in general. We're going to be landed with the Tories because the SNP have killed Labour's chances in an attempt to liberate themselves from...the Tories.
I can't work out if I think it's Labour's fault, the SNP's fault, or if the Tories have just played a fucking blinder and manipulated both sides. Sadly, I think it's probably the latter.
-
Are we really discussing John Carver's utility bills? Has it come to this?
I don't think it's healthy to have minimum expectations on anything to do with this club...
-
You reckon he's on any more than 50/60k pa? No chance.
Likely, given that the highest remunerated director (presumaby Charnely) is on £106k pa. Compared to the divisional average of around £1m+
-
Embrace it now guys, it'll make it easier when it happens...
-
Absolute disgrace that this lie has been sucked up by millions of idiots.
I say this all the time but honestly, even Labour seem to have given up defending themselves on this. It's like the debate has moved on now and everyone has just 'agreed' that this ridiculous retelling of history that we have from the Tories is the way it was.
As you say, millions of idiots.
-
If we were going to get him either way, it may as well be now.
Other Games 14/15 - Football fans feel the same about stuff, except stuff like Western Sydney Wanderers, because no one gives a shit about them.

Sunderland will go down the following year without the traditional 6 points from us, so don't worry too much.
