We are guaranteed nothing against ANY team in this league, unless we turn up firing on all cylinders.

Tiote is class and you all know it. He plays the game rough, and at times he'll blow it. He's a full blooded player and fights for the cause, yet he battles for the team using Tiote laws. The ref's on his case are just waiting to act.........to give him a card on a player he's knacked. When the Cheick's on pitch and he's strutting his stuff...it sorts the men from the boys, or the straights from the puffs. The man is a beast and he bleeds black and white......and he'll battle like a demon, from morning till night. The red against Sunderland, was scandalous at best, so stop saying it's warranted, just give it a rest. McFaul says the ref was correct with his call....even though Cheick Tiote went for the ball. There was worse on the pitch , with a red card at best....its was when that seb Larsson, studded Ameobi in the chest. We know Cheick is tough and is made of cast iron...but he's our midfield enforcer, with a heart like a lion. The ref made an error..and our game was hindered......I hope sense prevails, when Chiecks red card's rescinded.

Owen was the opposite to what Peter Beardsley was. Ok Owen scored a few goals for us but that's about it. Peter Beardsley was tremendous for us, obviously and to be fair he oozed class , on the pitch and gave a tremendous amount of joy to the fans, obviously. To be fair, he obviously wanted to play for this club so badly and was obviously proud to pull on that tremendous black and white shirt for the tremendous fans to be fair. If Beardsley was to comment on Owen, I would think he would say Owen was our biggest money waste to be fair. He might say he WAS a tremendous player in his time, obviously...but to be fair I think he would obviously speak the truth about it all, as he loves this club with tremendous love and passion, which is very clear for us all to see to be fair.

On the flip side, Fletcher could have broken Tiote's leg if Tiote was a fraction faster and had got to the ball. Refereeing should be about observation and applying common sense to any given tackle. The truth is, ref's apply crowd loudness to decide what punishment is given in any given tackle in many cases and this was one. Crowd reaction got Tiote his red, not the tackle itself.

What benefit did we get from Owen? Yes he scored a few goals but the club didn't benefit. Meaning we didn't gain anything from his goals. He cost 17 million and 100 grand a week. He cost us the most Financially, which is what the topic asks.
-
Our worst ever signing without a doubt in terms of money wasted for no real team benefit was Michael Owen. He might have scored goals but he cost a fortune to buy and his wages were astronomical. The real waste of money without any real contribution has got to be Xisco. Not because of himself but because he was brought in and frozen out and has been picking up his wages ever since. There's your two modern day wastes of money. Add Marcelino and Luque to that.

They couldn't lace Tiote's boots. Tiote can play football...they were just put on the pitch as battering rams and were blatant with it.Comparing them to Tiote is fucking stupid.

The problem with 50/50 balls is the potential to cause injury to either player. If Newcastle players were pulling out of 50/50 challenges, many fans would be raging that they had no heart in it. I get sick of all this, ' oh he should be sent off, he showed his studs'..what an absolute pile of shite. Launching into a tackle two footed, yes, a red... launching into a tackle even one footed with studs up when there is clearly no chance of winning the ball, yes, a red card. Tiote not only just fractionally missed out on the ball but did so whilst getting dragged back and wrestled. It showed his desire to get to that ball and the ref and officials could plainly see this. The end result is plainly simple. Tiote is a marked man so every tackle he makes is under intense scrutiny by refs as a matter of course.

No way was Tiote's tackle a red card. The only way that should have been a red card is if he had already been booked and received another yellow.

This ref needs to be questioned over this match. I mean , I know ref's favours most teams at home in stages of the season and we get our fair share of decisions but regardless of this being a rivalry, which one looks like a sending off?

The problem with some fans is, they don;t know what they actually want in a team. You take out Tiote and replace him with a less physical player and you lose any midfield dominance in bigger games. We have to take the rough with the smooth with Tiote. If you think about it...some fans are saying, 'cash in on him if a big bid comes in' yet if a big bid comes in, it's gonna be by a big club who will be getting the very same physical in your face player as we have and will obviously think he's worth it if they shell out. Tiote= enforcer. Cabaye= craft and terrier like.

He is a liability. He's the type of liability a team like ours needs though. He's always gonna get sent off now and again but that's the price he has to pay for his competitive , on you like a rash nature. Many teams lose games in midfield when they even see him on the field because they know what they're in for.

I think there is some kind of bid by the FA to stamp out on Tiote being competitive. Take that out of his game and he might as well retire. Football is turning into a pussies game.

The Ref ruined the game as a contest. I think any honest man and woman, dog, hamster, chicken, goat, boy, girl, mouse and badger, knows that there is no way in hell that Tiote's challenge was a sending off. But as we know, it's swings and roundabouts, so we can't really complain as we get our fair share as well. All in all , I thought it was a good start for us and we looked fairly comfortable until Tiote got sent off and even looked reasonably comfortable with the 10 men in the first half. It was backs to the wall for periods of the second half but we coped well and very nearly held on. It gave the players a good work out anyway and we are close to being able to field a fully fit for 90mins plus team. Colo was absolutely outstanding and worked his bollocks off as we ll as being as cool as a cucumber. It's a game to take heart from because we stood up to be counted.

A nice win could really kick start our season. All big clubs think their derbies are the special one's and me being biased, I believe ours are the most special.

Most teams haven't played that well, including Sunderland, so it's not as if we are on our own in that department. We will win the game 2-1 or maybe 3-1. Think positive man.

I'll make your job easier than locking them, I'll take no further part in this thread and I will stay out of any future threads regarding anything to do with theories.I'll stick to the Newcastle football part.
