Somebody (Alex?) might have made the Telling It Like It Is joke recently. If so, I apologise for stealing the joke.

I was satirising Leazes’ use of the phrase anyway. I think he trademarked it ;)

We watch(ed) soccer Saturday because the game(s) arent televised. These plums can get a broadcast.

Aye. Watching him take you through a match you could just watch is fucking insanity.  Although I agree with KD’s point about Soccer Saturday being gash too

  3. They’re so hung up on boundaries. Particularly ones which are 50 years or more out of date*  Also have to love how a photo taken in Newcastle, showing the river the city sits by and the town on the other side of the river (part of the same urban conurbation) is the same as taking a photo of Sunderland and claiming it’s New York

*Gateshead falling within the historical county of Durham. Meaning it belongs to Sunderland, despite being overwhelmingly black and white for as long as anyone can remember.

Caught a bit of sky news as this was breaking and the presenter deflected it from being about 'party politics' and I thought why not? It's almost ALWAYS Tories who do this type of shit, every Tory MP isn't a sexual deviant but every MP who's a wrong'un is a Tory.

Whereas highlighting Labour councils potentially going bust is fine. Even if the factors (like equal pay claims or lack of central government funding) have little to do with the politics of the party running the council. Not to mention less focus on Tory-run councils also facing bankruptcy

A couple of things about this. Since the tories are happy to use images of the king on a political advert I think that should clear Labour to do the same, perhaps a side by side picture of Johnson partying and getting pissed, whilst the queen mourns the passing of her husband - alone?

But more to the point, if you follow the link to the entirely reputable Express, you'll see it leads to the Global Soft Power Index. The Express claims this as a Brexit victory. However, pre-referendum in 2015 the UK's place in this list was ...... first.

    Parody really is dead

From a completely pedantic POV, surely he’s using government funds and the government Twitter account to pretty much make a party political advert?

Much like the levelling up adverts you see in city / town centres. In places that look tatty as fuck for extra irony points

The current PL clubs aren’t likely to vote to give Man City and us unlimited spending power unless the penalties are huge, enough to give oil rich despots second thoughts… it’s unlikely to happen iyam 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t know. A LOT has changed since the takeover was initially blocked etc. If clubs vote in self interest, rather than the forelock-tugging arse-licking we’ve seen on the past then I think there’s only  Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool who should be against it. Man Utd too I suppose. But after that?

  8. They’re also struggling to get SME owners to pretend to like him if they’re getting a couple of lasses running a part time business whilst doing their A-Levels (or whatever). Assuming they’re not completely fabricating that part too. Should’ve got CT involved and had him hold up a ‘Fuck off, you cunt!” mug if they wanted a real captain of industry

Iirc that doesn't take into account tactical voting which knocks another 30 seats off the cunts. Sunak was pathetic today. The longer they hold off, the worse it will be for them.

You’re right I think. They did a one a while back that took tactical voting into account iirc. The Tories were virtually wiped off the map.
